Ok, the jackpot is $290 million tonight. What would you do if you won it?

Here's what I would do:

1. Quit my job!! And have DH quit his.
2. Pay off the house.
3. Buy two new cars (we've been limping along with our 10 year old models and even though they still run really well, I'm tired of all the little things that always go wrong.)
4. Take my extended family to WDW for the rest of the summer. They could come and go as they pleased, but we'd stay right there!
5. Donate money to certain pet charities: the hospice that took care of my dad, scholarships to the college where I work.
6. Set up a trust fund for my daughter.
7. Give some money to family members and friends who are really struggling and need the money very badly.

How about you?

My list is VERY similar, but also includes paying off everyone's student loans! I hated paying those! So all friends, relatives and virtual strangers get their loans paid if I win! It may take a bit, but I want to put SallieMae out of business!

1. Send an email to my boss that I would not be in on Monday, or any day following ;)

2. Buy a larger home; maybe something with 4 bedrooms and 3 baths!

3. DVC (about 1000 points, so that my family could share in on the fun!)

4. Help family members

5. Enjoy life

Go away where no one knows me for a very long time, LOL.

The first thing I'd do is get an attorney...then I'd change my phone number.

I'd pay off everything we owed and then do the same for our parents and sisters. I'd set aside large amounts in trust for our kids' college expenses as well as my neices' college expenses.

Then I'd go shopping! New house on the lake and 2 new vehicles!

This is fun!!!

I would have this really big party, and invite pretty much everyone I know. I would give out envelopes with money in it. Aunts and uncles might get say $10,000. Cousins would get $5,000. Close friends would get varying amounts depending on how close we were. And the people who have been nasty to me in life would get envelopes with a buck in it. I would make sure that they open their envelopes after seeing how much everyone else got. I know it's mean, but you know what they say about payback ;)

Change my telephone number....

Start a foundation to help the elderly who have no safe place to live.

Start a foundation to help the children of people who have died from cancer

Open a free day care for women who want to work.

Adopt 3 American children

Build a dream house in Orlando and take them to Universal everyday!

Build two close houses for my sister and my Aunt and Uncle.

Homeschool my son.

You asked! :teeth:

What' the max amount of points you can buy at DVC?

LOL!

Remind me not to tick you off!

Keep 'em coming, I'm loving these answers!

Build my very own beach house, with a pool. I also would get a really nice boat, not sure what type though.

Start up some type of foundation for poor, disadvantaged people, of course. :D

Go on vacations for about a year to places like Europe, Asia, Scandinavia. I'd also bike around the USA.

I'd write a tell all book about what it's like to be filthy rich.....ah the possibilities!;)

I'd take a deep breath and thank God for answering my prayers. Then I'd move me and my kids into a nice little 3 bedroom house in the town we're in. I'd figure out what I needed to live on, keep my part-time job and help out everyone I could. I don't want it all, I just never want to have to worry again about money or where we're going to live.

First I would hire an attorney, then go to a financial planner. I would give some to my church. Figure out how much DH and I need to support ourselves and set that up in a trust fund with a monthly income (we can't touch the principal for x amount of years). Buy some land, build us a house, DD and SIL a house, my BIL and his wife a house and my dad a house. Fix up our old house, pay it off and give to friends of ours that are struggling. Help out our friends and family that need help. With the rest I would set up a charitable trust and support others in need.

I would tell NO ONE, except my mom, dad, brother & DH's mom, dad & sister, oh & my grandparents. That's it & I would be very generous with them!!! Friends you never thought you had would start coming out of the wood work wanting a piece. I would pay off my house, buy a new car, DVC points (of course), write a big check to our church, humane society, Alzheimers research, St. Jude's or some other children's hospital (you just never know, it could be your own child) & other org.'s that I feel are close to me. I would not encourage DH to quit work, but maybe find a job doing something that he actually likes - 1 - he'd get bored not working & 2 - we would probably get on each other's nerves. I would like to say that my life would not change a great deal, other than these few things, but you never know. Unfortunately, I will never know.

Oh, DH's aunt & uncle did win the Va. lottery a few years back. It was no where near this amount, I think about 1.6 mil, still enough to make life a little easier - I'd take it anyday.

I've always thought about this (day dreamed) since I was about 10 years old!!

First I'd give half to charity...probably my Church

Probably get a new home, same town.

Pay off our cars...no need for new ones right now.

Pay off all debt.

Put money aside for both DDs educations and weddings (Disney weddings!;))

Everyone would get to buy something special; I know DH would buy a motorcycle!

Go on a celebration trip and then travel several times a year; Go to all the places I want to like Italy for a month or two, Hong Kong again, Ireland again, England, and Hawaii and of course, Disney much more often!

Make sure to have a nest egg that will support us and so we'll be comfotable for the rest of our lives.

Help family and close friends who may need help...like pay off their homes and/or debt. Plan a family trip together.

I think my DH would quit his job ASAP but I'm not 100% sure on that but I'm 90% sure!

I'm am afraid, though, that our moochie family and friends will bug us to no end and we will have to move!

I would buy a waterfront mansion and hire a gardener, maid, and cook. I would then take my entire family on a month long trip to Hawaii. We have nice cars but I would add a little Mercedes to go with my much loved minivan. I would also give a few million to each of my and DH's immediate family members. Being a millionaire can't be much fun without making the rest of our families millionaires too. I would also up the amount we now give to certain charities. Of course it goes without saying that we would hire a financial planner that will set us up with a good retirement plan.

I'd buy a larger home in the area I'm in.

Buy a new car.

Decorate my house the way I want it!! :)

Get back to school and finish for that degree!!

Invest the rest.

Call a lawyer & change my phone number

Pay off all debt

Sell this house & buy a new one

New cars

Stash away college fund money & create trust funds for my boys

Stash away retirement funds

Buy DVC points

Buy a beach house

Trip to WDW for 20 of my closest friends & their families

I would quit my job, finish remodeling my current house and then sell it for something with a view.

I would buy a beach house in NC so we could spend more time with my parents.

I would take exotic vacations as much as possible before my kids started school. When they do start school I will enroll them in a private school.

I would buy a new mini van and DH a new truck.

I would set up trust funds for my nieces and nephews and for the children of my friends for college. I would mke sure my kids would be set financially as well.

I would buy a diamond anniversary band and diamond earrings for myself.

I would have one huge party!

Of course I would hire an attorney, financial planner. I think it is a great idea to change my phone number too.

Do I have anything left?

Denae
