What would you do first at AK with this plan?

If I have an 8am Tusker house reservation. Which I already decided I'm def doing and we get out of there hopefully by 9 which way would you go first? We are saving our fast passes for Epcot for later in the day. So we have limited time but don't want to spend a full day at AK anyways. We want to see Lion King and we will want do to Everest, Dinosaur and Triceratops spin as well. Do we get out of breakfast then go straight to the first lion king show since its right there at 10 then head over to EE? Or do we go to EE first make our way around the park and end with Lion King for like the 1pm show. We are going after Labor day in Sept during low crowds and will choose the AK day that is most recommended. Im afraid if we go to Lion King first by the time we get to EE we will have to wait in line for long and then that backs us up for the rest of the day.

I personally would not spend the key morning time (even if the crowd level in general is low) at a show. We would go to EE after breakfast and then Dinosaur/Triceratops ending with the Lion King.

I agree. I would head to either EE or the Safari. We generally do EE using the single rider line eliminating the need for a FP there. If it were me, I would do the Safari then head to EE. However, I know that some like to ride EE together. Even then, I would probably do the Safari since you are realitively close to the Safari at TH. Then I would go to EE, then Dinosaur. Then I would worry about LK.

ok thanks! I agree I think we should do Safari first. Hopefully if were out right at 9 then we wont have a wait at all then we will head over to EE. We have two small kids 4 and 7. Obviously our 4 year old wont be tall enough so we'll use the rider swap so we both can ride with our daughter. Then we will make our way down to Dinosaur. Thanks!!!

Just a warning - you'll want to be out just before nine. Last spring, we left our breakfast at 9:05 and hopped right into line figuring it wouldn't be long at all. We moved quickly through about half the line. Unfortunately, a whole lot of FP returns started coming in just at that point, and the line slowed down to a slow crawl with long periods of just standing there. What we thought would be a 15 or 20 minute wait to get on, turned out to be 40 minutes. Which isn't horrible, but it's a lot longer than we normally are willing to wait in line (the standby line sign said 20 minutes when we got in).

In future, we will try to be walking out the door of Tusker house by 8:45 at the latest. We did that the previous time, and it worked out great. We walked straight on and were in the first couple trucks.

Do you think if we get an 8am we would be able to be out by 8:45 I've read to ask for Check before you're done eating as well to get out quicker so you're not waiting. I don't want to rush breakfast but I don't want to end up waiting for 40 minutes either at 9am

It's a buffet, so you won't have to wait on the kitchen. But it all depends on how fast you guys normally eat. We could do it easily, without feeling at all rushed, but we are efficient eaters. And we don't need to get a pic with every single character, either. My mother in law couldn't, though, because she dawdles over her food. :) And would need to visit the bathroom. Twice. And walks slowly... Every family is different!

Thanks. We eat pretty quick and we will all be hungry by 8am from getting up early! We are staying at AKL and driving our own car. What time would you think we should leave the resort to get there and into AK and to Tusker house by 7:45?

With your own car speeding things up, but small kids slowing you down, I'd think leaving your room at 7am would give you ample time to get there by 7:45. That way you can stroll into the park and look around, instead of running to the restaurant. And you'll have more time for the picture before you sit down to eat. Plus time for emergency bathroom visits (so common in the morning!). :)

That seems so early to be so close but makes sense so we are not rushing. That will be an early morning for sure but thats ok. Luckily our kids are early risers especially on vacation.

I always budget about a third again of the amount of time I think I'm going to need, whenever I'm trying to get anywhere in Disney. :) It's surprising how long it can take to get anywhere!
