What would you do - Ebay

I have some items up for auction and received an email from someone who did not agree with the price I set for shipping my item (clearly stated in auction). Of course, they are my top bidder. I replied that I wasn't willing to change the shipping and they retracted their bid. You can only retract for certain reasons and they stated they couldn't contact me, which shows up in the bid history. This is a clear violation of EBay policies.

I don't want them to be held to the auction, but I also don't want it to look like I don't respond to buyers. So, should I report it to Ebay or not?

If the rules have remained the same, the last I recall, Bid retractions stay on a Bidder's history, not a Seller's history. So, of course, he's going to make up something to look like to other Sellers that he did nothing wrong to retract his bid.

But, for you, it will only stay on the history of THIS bid since he retracted the bid. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

You say he asked you a question. There is a place at the bottom of the auction where you can manually add in the Buyer's question. Maybe add the time of his question and his username, before the auction ends.

Also put the Bidder on your Bidder Block list so he can't bid again or on any of your future auctions.

In my past experiences, it's against the rules but ebay really doesn't care. I have had a few bidders retract and I reported them. Ebay says blah blah we will look into it but they don't do anything. Without buyers, they don't make money so they aren't going to do anything. So I just blocked anyone that retracted bids.

I am going to just let it go. Life is too short to stay angry over trivial stuff like Ebay. I don't think there will be any lasting issues since it is only for this auction and we have 100% positive feedback anyway.
