We are celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary at WDW in October. It will be the first time in 11 years we have gone without kids!

Our first thought was that we could make this a "relaxing" but fun trip. Then we said "heck no, we're going to burn the candle at both ends!!!" We want to do everything that we haven't been able to do with kids in tow! :rotfl: No more mid day naps, early evenings, or skipping "scary rides"...we're going to do it ALL since we can! :woohoo: A 15 hour day at WDW with no kids in tow is EASY! (and I know most of your Disney parents will agree!)

With that being said...what would you do? What are some of the special activities you would do? Special or romantic restaurants?

Thanks and I'm really looking forward to the responses! :)

Sorry, I'm going next month wihtout the kids but am doing the same as you! The only special thing I ahve planned is not really so special. We are spending one night checking out Pleasure island and doing whatever rides we want to do, nto what the kdis will like.

I would go on every too scary, too fast, too dark ride there is, and skip the majority of Fantasyland.
If you're there during F&W Fest, I'd take advantage of that and enjoy a lot of F&W. Especially the wine part. ;)
V&A - maybe even Chef's table?

Or maybe I'd be in Aruba instead.

Heh- we went on our honeymoon, which was MY first trip to WDW. Um, the very first day, as it all came over me, I became really teary-eyed missing the kids. But- I got over it :lmao:

We just constantly WENT- we barely saw our hotel room. It was nice, too, because there was no 'can we afford this?' in the back of my head when we'd stop to buy something. If we wanted soft serve in Animal Kingdom- we got it! AND if we wanted it THREE times in one day, well... :rotfl:

Have a lot of fun!!!

Short answer, world showcase. Ride all the rides we can't together. Dance at Atlantic Dance, eat at some places we never get to. Hang out and hold hands. Enjoy not having to lug so much around and being able to leave when we want to instead of saying let's go, and 15 min later actually walk out the door.

Long answer click here. Trip report from March 2007 when DH and did just that. 3 nights with out the kids at BWV. It was great.

We did this for our 15th anniversary. We stayed at YC-Concierge Level, ate at V&A, CA Grill, went to Pleasure Island. We also did the Segway Tour and Keys to the Kingdom. It was wonderful but I cried several times because I missed our son!!

Enjoy your celebration!!!

Disney Without Kids - WOW what a concept! I think I would get a more expensive room because we would be able to take more time and enjoy the resort instead of commando touring. We would also go check out Pleasure Island since we have never visited. I would buy myself a nice piece of jewelry instead of stuffed animals, pins for trading, hats and t-shirts. I would eat at Victoria and Alberts. Maybe someday.:)

Our next trip will be just me and DH  and as much as I love to go with our boys, I cannot wait for this trip!

Ok, so what we will do?...

* Get up early together to walk the grounds of POR and get coffee
* Ride the monorail loop more than once, just because we feel like it
* Take our time just "taking in" the parks - looking for Hidden Mickeys, admiring the detail in the buildings, sitting on a bench
* Ride whatever we feel like without having to take a vote on it
* Ride things together because we're both tall enough!:rotfl:
* Visit resorts like WL or the Poly just to enjoy the atmosphere
* Stop to watch the Dapper Dans, Off Kilter, the AK drummers, the Japanese drummers, the Chinese acrobats, and the MGM Streetmosphere performers
* Spend some time at Downtown Disney OTHER than at the Lego Store:upsidedow

Wow, now I really can't wait to go!!!

I forget to mention in the short answer (but is in the long answer, trip report.)

Keys to the Kingdom Tour! Well worth it. So glad we did.

1. At least one of the adult tours.
2. Have dinner late.
3. Actually get to watch evening shows.
4. Drink. ;)
5. Hang out in DTD more.(see #4)

Have fun!

Why not go see the Cirque Du Soleil show, Nubo?? I hear it is fantastic, but not really something kids would see.

Have a fantastic time!!

My DH and I finally did this for our 10 year back in March!!! We slept in(never happens at home), did PI and had a blast and the Adventurer's Club:lmao: and visited DTD West Side and stopped at every shop we wanted and stayed for as long as we wanted too!!!!!:cloud9: We were in NO rush to do much. Oh and the best part, the King bed we had in hotel(we have a queen at home), no being pushed to the edge by DH, DD, DD, DS, DD which does sometimes occur:scared1: !!

DH 30:darth:
DW 33::MinnieMo
DNefew 16:rockband:
DD 10:tinker:
DD 8:ccat:
DS 6pirate: Capt Jack
DD 3princess: Belle

This is such a great thread. DH and I are going December 08 for our 10th anniversary. I love hearing all the things that I'll get to do with out the kids.

Lucky you!!!

I would go to dinner at California Grill - went there BK (before kids) and loved it! Maybe Victoria & Albert's (we've never done that, but DH has no desire to do)

Go to Pleasure Island and stay out as late as I could stand it!

Sleep in.

Have a leisurely, unrushed (is that a word?) breakfast...every day.

Again, lucky you!! I am so jealous. Have a great time.

Wow, lucky you! We were in Disney without kids once-on our honeymoon. It was great. We actually got to go on rides like rollercoasters together. Haven't done that in 11 years. LOL

If we could do it again we would just go to nice TS restaurants and maybe even V&A and actually enjoy our adult meal for a change. Get up early and come back late. Ahh, that would be great, just once!

We have done this three times. Our most recent grown-up's only trip was in December for dh's 40th birthday. The most beautiful part of the entire trip was not carrying anything into the parks - no security stops for us, no parking a stroller, no changing diapers, no worrying about who'd be hungry when... AHHHHHHHHHH..... We, too, planned to relax but we didn't. We opened the parks almost everyday. A couple of times we would leave one park and go tour something else like the resorts or go sit in the hot tub and have a pina colada. It was heaven. We also did the Keys to the Kingdom Tour, and ate at several signature restaurants. Oh how I miss it! It was so nice to linger over a glass of wine and not have to bend down to pick up lost crayons and sippie cups.....

Have a lovely vacation!!!

Definitely go to dinner at V&A's. If you can get the Chef's Table (a nearly impossible feat for most), then all the better. :)

Like you, we would also burn the candle at both ends and GO! GO! GO! Do all the rides you wanted to that the kids just wouldn't.

I would take the time to watch Wishes from CG observation deck or Narcoosees or the GF dock. Such a great experience, and even with the masses around you...it is still romantic IMHO. Me and my DH always linger at the observation deck at CG watching Wishes.

Explore PI if you haven't ever done that before. Lots of changes over the years and definitely worth a peek.

Jellyrolls by the BW is great fun too. I don't consider myself a fan of the whole bar scene, but it is a unique and funny experience.

Like someone else said...you may have mommy withdrawl (the guilt for me is just overwhelming sometimes), but YOU GET OVER IT! Have a great time since you just don't know when the next opportunity will come around. :upsidedow

Dh and I went in 2004 without the kids for about 4 days. We did the all day tour that went from Epcot to MGM and to MK. I would do more tours. We had a very relaxing trip, taking out time, seeing what we wanted to see, eating where and what we wanted. IT WAS GREAT!! I can't wait to go back without them again:cheer2: . Enjoy!!

We're doing our first w/out kids trip in early July. We haven't done this in 8 years!!!!!!
We've made some ADRs at places like California Grill for our early 10th anniversary dinner.
We just became DVCers so we have made a vow to really relax and enjoy the parks and do what we can and what we want. We plan on spending time at Adventurers Club and not watching the parades or fireworks and just hitting all the rides during that time.

We are going back the first week in December with the kids and grandparents but it'll be nice riding RNR for the first time together!!!!! The last two times we had to baby swap!!!!!

Tracey

Someday, someday!!

We're going to go to Pleasure Island, stay at the Beach Club (dd is a Poly nut so we always indulge her...a huge sacrifice on our part :rolleyes1 ) sleep late, stay out late. Have romantic meals at places the kids don't want to go (like Morocco). Miss the kids, talk about the kids, call the kids...
