what would you do 2008?

next year planning on going to Alcudia and florida.If we go in may to florida (posibly only 3)we will be unable to take eldest as he is at uni first year,then we would do alcudia in aug (posibly 10 of us).If we went the outher way round it would be 9 for alcudia may and 10 for florida in aug.We prefer the weather in may,what do you think

It depends on how much your eldest wants to go to Florida Paul, if it is going to cause major dissapointment then I would switch and go in August.

I agree August is far from the ideal time to go, even though it is popular due to the school holidays - 95 degress at times last year.
However, I would always put family first personally and every trip you get the chance to enjoy together should be cherished.

How does your lad feel about it, Paul? Is he happy either way? Presumably it'll be pretty hot in Alcudia in August, too, but I guess it's a different type of holiday. I'd choose May over August for Florida all things being equal, but we're going in August this year. If you'd like your son to go with you and he wants to go, I wouldn't worry about the weather too much.

I agree with Johnny, Paul. August can be very hot, but if he would be disappointed, going then doesn't really matter.

I enjoy my youngest (17) still coming with us on holiday. He's the same - he starts Uni in September and probably won't be able to go with us next year either, which is a shame as it will be our first visit "home".

I'm sure you will make the right decision, whatever you decide on though.

DW will only go in pool if it`s 100 dregres air temp so easter a no no

Easter was mixed this year, had to buy fleeces. Next year its even earlier. We will be going again Easter 08 but not looking forward to weather, August is perfect for us.

We are going Easter 2008 next too, personally I prefer the heat of August to the unpredictable weather of March however Julie & Josh really struggled last year.
May be our last chance to go at a cooler time as Julie's school is giving her a hard time about taking a few days out - can see us back to summer holidays again from 2009 onwards.
