What would you decide? (Split stay is almost a definite)

We were able to book 5 nights next August in a 1BR AKV concierge villa. That was the maximum number of nights our AKV points would allow at 11 months.

We want to add 3 more nights at the 7 month window which is coming up in January. I'll try to add them in concierge but I'm not counting on it. So, would you:

*Book @ Kidani - easy to switch rooms, bigger accomodations, new pool, etc.
*Book @ BCV - enjoy SAB, Boardwalk at night
*Book @ VWL - only stayed in 2004 pre-DVC & miss it
*Book a THV - it's new & different (but can't book until Feb. I think)

I haven't been following BLT too closely. When can members start booking stays and when does BLT officially open for guests?

If it's me, and I have to swich rooms anyway, I'm going to a different resort. BCV/BWI would be my first choice - very different feel from AKV and you've got the EPCOT/DHS access.

That's what I was going to say, too!!

I would go with BCV and plan on going to Epcot and DHS during that part of the stay. So convenient, right by the BW, excellent restaurants nearby plus Epcot!!! Can't go wrong with that area in my book! If I had to switch I would do what PP said and go with something different.

Thanks for the input. I agree with this as well. We stayed at BWV this past October - that's why it wasn't on my list. We do love BCV (stayed there May '08). VWL might "feel" too much like AKV for that matter - dark, lots of wood, etc. Anyone know when BLT opens? If that were an option, I'd try to get a 1BR there.

Good Luck getting any of those at 7 months, although August might be okay for BCV or BWV. I think the THV are going to be nearly impossible to book at 7 months, at least at first. SSR owners will have the ability to book the limited number at 11 months and I suspect they will all be booked. I also suspect BLT might be hard to book too. I guess we will see, wont we :lmao:
I agree, I think the VWL will "feel" a lot like the AKV.
Good Luck with whatever you decide.

In 2007 our trip was in mid to late August and I didn't have any trouble booking (everything was available back then) but, of course, things may have changed. I think I'll try for BCV at the 7 month mark.

I went back to my Disney-philes magazine and BLT won't be open until the fall of 2009. I will try for a THV in the future when I can spend more time there and appreciate it. The majority of our points are at SSR so I'll save that for when I truly have the 11 month advantage (as opposed to booking in Feb. for Aug.) Even though there aren't that many, I'm sure I'll get one at some point - I'm feeling lucky since I nabbed a concierge villa at AKV!

I'll know the fate of our vacation in 2 weeks & 4 days!

I would go with WLV....I do think it is similiar....high ceiling lobby and all. But that is where it ends. Grounds are spectacular....and the boat to M.K....
Besides....YOU MISS IT:goodvibes

My 2nd choice would be an Epcot area resort.
THV's are only "grand villas".

Of course if BLT is available....all bets are off....gotta try it;)

That is what I would do as well. I would go to BCV and enjoy SAB since it is an August trip. I would wait and do Epcot and DHS on that leg of the trip and I would do AK and MK from AKL.

BLT should be open Sept 1, 2009 - you can't make reservations until March 15 - non-BLT members.

too late for your trip.

I think THV will be open - and you can make reservation in Feb. Of course you are going from one far away resort AKV to another far away THV - so might want a little action - BCV or BWV.

I think BLT was wishful thinking on my part - our dates won't overlap with the opening :sad1:

Our kids are still young enough to save points with a 1BR (and MS will still let us book it) - so I'd rather not "waste" the points on a THV unless someone else was joining us.

Last time we stayed at BWV so it's down to BCV and VWL. I guess I'll just ask what's available - it may only be one of them. Then "DVC Fate" will decide! If they're both available maybe I'll flip a coin.

Life's rough when these are the types of decisions that you have to deal with! :goodvibes
