What would you buy?

I am going to be getting a $100.00 Amazon Gift Card soon!!:sunny:

I have not used Amazon before, so I am not very familiar with the site. I know they have tons of things for sale, but I'm not sure what I want to spend it on.

I kind of want to use it (or some of it) for myself, I am thinking about a gel-nail set, but other than that I have no idea what to buy. I know I could always save it for Christmas, which would be a good idea. There doesn't seem to be any big "need" for our family right now. (At least that I can buy under $100.00!)

If I had cash, I would use it for a trip to Busch Gardens we will take this fall. Does Amazon have anything with motels or restaurants? (We have a BG pass so we don't need tickets)

So, what would you buy with a $100.00 Amazon GC? Something for yourself, the family? Have you ever bought anything crazy from them? Just looking for other thoughts while waiting for 5:00 to get here!

Unless I get a big one, I just usually save it for stuff I need. Case in point, I got one for my bday...it went towards new dance shoes for my older daughter, a new charging cable for my younger daughter, and some cake supplies for a cake I had to do. So fun...but it's $ that didn't have to come out of my bank account.

I have been going back and forth with the idea of buying a Kindle Unlimited subscription so if I came in to an Amazon GC I'd just go for it.
Do you like to read- what about a Kindle?
I do alot of shopping on Amazon, and you can get pretty much anything on there so if there wasn't anything I wanted to treat myself too I'd probably use it for household items. Then take the cash equivalent and put it in the vacation fund.

Thanks for the replies! I have been looking at the site and OMG! there is a lot of stuff! I have seen a couple of things I have been wanting for myself and I've also seen some of the restaurant gift cards. (We love eating out) I think I will keep looking and see what else I can find!

What's the most unusual thing you've ever considered buying? Search for it on Amazon.

Re gift certificates: I know I suggested one, but it's entirely possible Amazon won't let you buy a gift certificate using a gift certificate.

There isn't much they don't have. I believe their gift cards should also be valid for any 3rd party retailer that uses Amazon as their electronic "storefront" - regardless of whether or not Amazon directly ships the items.

It's kind of crazy too. Amazon started off strictly as a bookseller. They saved money by not having any inventory - where they would order from the publisher and the publisher would directly ship to the consumer. When they started going to creating their own warehouses and carrying their own inventory, I was wondering how long it would take before they were out of business. I recall other businesses said that losing money was acceptable if they were developing market share for future growth, such as Webvan or Pets.com.

If I were you, I'd buy an Amazon Prime membership. Mine has paid for itself over and over again just in free shipping. There are so many other prime perks I haven't even checked out yet. I love Amazon, feel like it saves me a lot of time and gas as well. Whenever I need anything I check there 1st. Off the top of my head in August I bought a neck brace, multiple baby items for a shower gift basket, party decor and supplies, mini garden flags, pillow inserts, spare parts for my stick vacumn, shirts for my husband, nail clippers, pedicure toe separators and a hair cutting gadget

I buy pretty much EVERYTHING from Amazon. The craziest thing I ever bought from them was a mattress for my son's bed.

As others have mentioned, they have just about everything. I've found it great for finding things that you might not easily find in stores: off brand print cartridges, replacement parts for a cell phone: battery, USB port, charging cables, computer expansion cards, screen protectors, college textbooks (way, way less than the college bookstore...and rentals for even less)... the list goes on...

How have you made it to 2018 without using Amazon? I'm frankly impressed. When I get an Amazon gift card I use it to buy things I have been needing but not had time to grab at the store. Phone charger, pens, whatever.
