What would you ask Walt?

I just finished writing an essay on having dinner with a historical figure, and I of course picked Walt Disney. It really made me think about what I would ask him. Here's what I came up with: "would you do anything differently?", "did you know you would have an effect on so many people?" and "where did you get the insight to create Disneyland (and later WDW)"?

I was wondering, if you could ask Walt one question, about the parks or otherwise, what would it be?

On a serious note, I'd probably ask him what his initial intention for WDW truly was? What else would he liked to have done with the property?

There are so many different things I would love to ask him if I was given the chance to, but the one question I would ask is...Are you happy with the progression of WDW?

I asked DH the same question, and he said he would ask him...If you could do it differently, what would it be? What would you not do that has already been done?

I would definitely want to know what his vision was for the Florida project, past MK and Epcot and how he felt about how it actually ended up.

I think he already had a vision of what he wanted WDW to be, and his purchasing of all of the extra land around the park speaks to his intent to expand. But, did his dream come true, or did it become sidetracked? TDBIASWS.: thumbsup2

I would ask him if we was surprised that the population did not like the aggressive and nasty nature of Mortimer Mouse. I would also ask if he really expected if the population would like Mickey Mouse to the extent that they had (he suggested that he was actually a little surprised by his famous line, It was all started by a mouse). Lastly, i would thank him for having the courage to keep Disney Studios and later Disney Productions going even though he had to nearly declare bankruptcy several times over the years (they were constantly bailed out by ABC which is why Disney bought ABC when ABC was about to declare bankruptcy - they returned the favor). I like your choice in people. Everybody knows Walt and Mickey but they don't really know Walt. He and Roy are fascinating people who (imho) deserves a very large footnote in history. Good luck on your essay, i hope it goes well. There are tons of pictures on the web of Walt from the 20s and beyond. The teacher may find it interesting if you include them for her interest. I have done this in papers i wrote for school. I added a few pages of pictures at the end. Just shows the teacher you actually cared enough to do the leg work and looked further then Wikipedia...

Probably what he would say. Especially with them buying Lucas that makes Disney one of the most capable studios on the planet. He probably would also ask, who came up with Stitch and why?
