First thing in morning in september?

Does fp+ make the standby wait busy even at rope drop?

Thanks!

We got thru the gates at 8:02, headed straight there and got in line during spring break. Had a pleasant 55 min wait, no complaints. Ours was outside mainly and would have been brutal in the afternoon sun. My only other stand by time, we beat a running path straight there right after wishes and got about 30-40 min wait. Frankly if you have enough days to do Wishes another day, it had dropped to around 20 during Wishes! Right after we got in line, so did everyone else and the wait went over 60 fast. Some were riding while wishes was going off, neat! Also remember that as long as you get in the line even at closing, if you make it in the cue even an hour wait right at park closing, they still have to ride you! My recommendation is at night if you can and super far in the back, otherwise its not nearly as much fun.

The wait at rope drop isn't necessarily about people using FP, it's about the rush of people who would get there ahead of you. I'd say if you wan to try rope drop, just be sure to be at the front of the rope drop crowd.

Depends on you and your party. Get to the park early and walk quickly after rope drop using the bridge to the teacups then turning left to the mine train (do not go through the castle) you can be on immediately or a few minutes. But if you arrive later and aren't ahead of the crowd, then you could be looking at 30-60min if not more sometimes.

Generally everyone is either heading toward the mine train or A&E..so you have to beat the crowd to get on quickly in the morning

It was 15 minutes during the fireworks back in January - 75 consistently throughout the rest of the day

November - adult pace, no stopping at all, recommended route from PP above, no actual wait, just the time it took to walk through the queue so probably 10-15 minutes maybe?

You know that pic in the Haunted Mansion where the guy ages into a skeleton before your eyes? Something like that I imagine :D

If you want an alternate strategy, the line can get very short later in the evening.

Last June, we found an 80 minute posted wait at 11:30 pm. The actual wait was 20 minutes then 10 for a 2nd trip.

We felt that 2 rides in a half hour was a pretty efficient use of time.

Just back from WDW this week. Waits for 7DMT were brutal every time we checked including first thing in the morning and during other events like parades. Not less than 70 minutes. I'm pretty sure the posted wait time was accurate, as people were packed into the pavilion like sardines. It looked very unpleasant. It was a novelty for us to ride since it was our first time, but honestly not worth such a long and miserable wait (mostly outdoors). I would not do it without a FP+.

We were there at RD on a very busy late March spring break week. We walked (didn't run) straight to 7DMT and the posted wait was 45min. We got in line and waited 25. And the queue was cute. Time passed quickly. And we saw Steven Tyler getting off the ride before we got on.:worship:

Near the front at RD you can get right on with no waiting. Posted wait might be 45 minutes or more when you get off the ride.

We were there during Easter week. We were at MK for 7am rope drop and towards the front of the pack. We walked to fantasyland at a normal pace, but stopped to take a pic in front of the castle, and when we got to 7DMT, our wait was 45 min.

One more suggestion would be to book a BOG breakfast in the 8-830 range (they'll let you in before opening in any case). We did it yesterday and were let in at 7:50 and got some nice pics, BOG opened at 8:00 and we got our food and out by 8:25. We waited with several other "breakfast folks" near the corner where you'd go from BOG to 7D and a CM led us there at 8:45. We rode it twice before the masses arrived from the front gate and were at Space Mtn. before 9. Definitely worth the $20 for one meal (order what you'd want to eat then, and ask for a box to package up all the Danishes they bring you as well and you're set for a brunch a few hours down the line as well!).

September not a busy time. Like others have said, be there at rope drop, walk straight there around the right side of the Castle, walk right on with maybe 10 minute wait. Note that rope drop has typically been around 8:45am instead of the published 9am. On a different day, we got out of Crystal Palace at 8:55am, didn't realize park opened 8:45am. We were behind a lot of people. The line was long, but it moved pretty quick, waited about 25 minutes. There were some people returning with FP just after rope drop, but not many.

Also like others said, we had great luck one night right before park close. Posted standby 40, but just looking at the line you could tell that was way off. We got in line 10 minutes before park close, waited 10 minutes. There was no one returning with FP at that point.

I don't mind most lines, but 7DMT is the exception. Too little ride for the crazy waits. It's fastpass or nothing for me. At rope drop of you're quick, you can beat the crowd but if it said 60 minutes, I could ride Splash Mountain and Big Thunder twice each or more during that first hour after rope drop.

This is what i was thinking fp+ for about 11am if possible, I don't want to waste my rope drop time in a long line.
