We are arriving at WDW on May 24th at around 1:00 p.m.. Our first day at the parks will be on Sunday May 25th. I was thinking of going to MK. We are not staying on-site, but it is an ee morning and also a holiday w/e. Do u think it will be mad house busy there? Do u think we should go to MGM in the morning then head over to MK? We have PS at CP at 4:30. Should we arrive in time for the parade? Thanks for your opinions and advice. :D

MK will be extremely crowded, but then it's Mem. Day weekend so every park will be considerably crowded. But given that Sunday is MK day for EMH, I think it would be good to start your day at MGM and then move over to MK right before your PS and then spend the rest of the time at MK. JMO!

JNL... I have got to agree with Brian on this one...steer clear of MK..from experience i can tell you that it will BE PACKED!!! Are you only going for the weekend?

I don't know if you know about this or not, but that Sunday will be a day during Star Wars Weekends, so MGM may be busier in the morning on that day as well, depending on who the celebrities are. I would definitely have a backup in case that park is busy in the morning too for that, although the concentration of the people should be around Star Tours.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that!!! MGM will be swamped too! Epcot, AK, anyone?

We are going to be there May 24th-31st but are taking my inlaws for their 1st time to WDW. They really want to see the castle to know they have arrived. I really didn't want to wait until further in the week to go.

If you want to make a good impression on your inlaws, you should DEFINITELY wait until later in the week to go. I suggest perhaps getting PS at 1900 Park Faire for breakfast... then they can see the castle, even if they don't go into the park. Then catch the monorail to Epcot for the day. I would save MK for Tuesday!

We were there during that same time period last year. DO NOT GO TO MK DURING THE WEEKEND! Unless you are really into fighting huge crowds and waiting in long lines for everything.

We had a great time during the week and never waited in line for anything, even popular rides like Buzz Lightyear. But we made the mistake of trying MK on that weekend and we promptly turned around and left the park. Stick to AK or EPCOT that weekend and then have the time of your life there during the week.

Tell your inlaws that they won't need to see the castle to feel the magic. It's everywhere!

You could also plan a character meal if you think seeing the characters would help. Many people kick off their trip that way. They have also started including a lot more characters in all the parks, including EPCOT.

OK, if they REALLY want to see the castle, then go to the MK... plan a PS at Crystal Palace or Tony's, stroll down Main Street, and into the shops. Then LEAVE and take the monorail to Epcot... it is more spread out and handles crowds much better! You don't want to ruin the magic by subjecting them to the crowds and lines you will inevitably encounter at the MK. Then plan on doing the entire day at MK later in the week!

Take a monorail ride past MK and the castle and go to Epcot. :p
