We are flying and I wonder if we should rent a car and pick up groceries OR have a service deliver a few things.

I checked the cost of a car for one day from airport to the Swan and it will be $71.xx for full size car, carseat rental, and taxes. Then I will have the cost of groceries.

The only groceries I will need is 2 cases of water, gallon of milk, a few snacks, and cartons of juice.

Would the cost be the same and less hassle to use delivery service? (It sure would be nice to use the Magical Express and not worry about luggage.)

TIA! :)

Use a service. You're looking at $100 for a car and your groceries, as opposed to about $50 for the groceries & delivery (I think GG and wegoshop have a $50 minimun), and you get to skip the hassle of renting.

USE THE SERVICE!!!

We used them on December trip and I LOVED IT! No hassle, delivered to the hotel room door. We saved so much money and time. I wished Ihad used them when the girls were in diapers and drinking bottles because then I wouldn't have had to carry 1 suitcase full of baby stuff - can't do that nowadays.

If you don't want to do either then think about checking out the hotel stores. Depending on where you are stying some hotels have a good selection of groceries. 2-liter soda, 1/2 gallon of milk, etc. but you're going to $$$$.

Ok, I think you all are talking me into BUT what is GG.

Is the $50 minimum just groceries or that includes delivery?

Thank you all so much for your help.

**EDIT** I checked the website for wegoshop.com. It appears there isn't a minimum. Groceries up to $100 will have a $17 delivery fee.

How confident are you about these services with delivery and choosing items? (mostly delivery)

what would i do? rent a car. but i would never go to disney without renting a car, so i dont know how much help that is to you.

GG is Garden Grocer. You can visit their website at www.gardengrocer.com. I believe their delivery fee is $12. I would recommend using the service. You place your order online a few days ahead and you don't have to worry about anything else. They do the shopping and driving for you. The groceries are delivered right to your hotel room. It beats the hassle of renting a car, driving to the store, shopping in a store where you don't know the aisles so it would take a little longer, a trip to the gas station to fill up the rental car before you return it.

I would not rent unless you want a car for your trip. I would not deal with picking up the car, car seats, bags, etc. just so that you can get groceries. We always rent a car and last trip we stopped for groceries. I will admit that we didn't plan well b/c I didn't have my book (it was in my luggage on ME) so I didn't know where the closest grocery store was. Between waiting in line to get the car, getting to the car, to the store, etc. it ended up taking forever and was a huge pain. Next time, even if we have a car, I'll likely have groceries delivered.

This should be the last ?. My husband and I decided this is the way for us. We will be arriving @ 9:50pm and it would be nice to get on a bus and have someone get our luggage and drive us to hotel with the groceries waiting on us. :goodvibes And the only reason we would be needing the car would be for groceries. But the delivery fee is appropriate compared to rental car and carseat fees. Thanks ladies!

Do you recommend or prefer either service?

If we weren't driving, we'd use a service. It's definitely less of a hassle than renting a car and getting groceries and then returning the car even with the $50 minimum. Maybe you can get some breakfast type stuff such as muffins. I know people use either Wegoshop or GG for groceries and alcohol. Beer and wine are way cheaper off property. I remember when we stayed at WL in April and were in the shop a gentleman bought 2 or 3 cans of Heineken Beer and paid $11. That's just crazy. You can buy a 6 pack for less than that.
