What would make Disney World perfect???

I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEE everything about THE WORLD  ,,except ONE thing that has BUGGED me for years and years..not a BIG DEAL,,but..

WHY cant they have a FLAG POLE that retracts into the ground AFTER the flag retreat :confused3 ..they can pop it up after the park closes,,or right before opening,,,,,,,

I would LOVE to have a PICTURE from the Train Station,,and one of the Train Station,,from Main Street..WITH OUT that flag pole,,,,,

Retreat is at 5PM..so would have plenty of time for people to take FLAGPOLE_LESS pics,,,,

Just a thought--I dont think it would be THAT hard to do!!!!!

Other then that the whole place is like a DREAM :cloud9:

Tink :tink:

I think we all agree :grouphug: on the monorail expansion! And a few more resorts - I like the budget/moderate combination thought. More sit-down restaurants to keep up with demand from the dining plan. I'd like an actual notification when a discount code is attached to my name - it's happened twice - I've called to make a reservation, or to price a trip, and I've got a code - expired and unused because I never knew I had it - no e-mail or postcard for me! Guess I should call and check in once a week.

I'd like the "mythical beasts" land originally planned for Animal Kingdom to come to be. :ccat:, and an African cultural display.

I'd like to see an India pavilion and restaurant in World Showcase as well as two menus for the more exotic restaurants - one of authentic dishes, and the other (current menus) for less adventurous palates. How about a renovation of the older Magic Kingdom rides (I love them but they're looking really seedy) as well as a Medieval-themed ride :jester: of some sort, a display of actual film making equipment and processes (or update and expand the one currently in place) in MGM :smickey:, a modern robotics interactive display in Epcot.

I'm not finding fault - I love the World as it is but our imaginations could help to make it so much more! pixiedust: :tink:

Hmm...It's hard to answer this question since I think that Disney is wonderful the way it is...But I suppose I have a few suggestions.

I also agree that I wish they would've finished the "mythical creature" world at the AK...Sounded like a very cool concept and just another place in WDW my imagination could run a little wild.

I've secretly always wished that they'd make World Showcase bigger. I know it's not really practical, but the older I get the MORE and MORE I appreciate WS...And since I'll probably never go to those countries since I always spend my $$$ on Disney, it helps me see what I'm missing. :rotfl2:

I also think they should expand the monorail! :woohoo:

Also, umm...This may seem obvious but maybe they can decide on a ticket price and keep it? :confused3 :teeth:

I'm onboard for the expansion of World Showcase. I'd like to see an Australia Pavalion, South America (since no 1 country there could), Africa (since no 1 country there could) and possibly a Russian Pavilion (just think of the Russian Cathedrals in the skyline) That would be great. Also my wife had an idea of replacing the Kidcot stations in World Showcase with a Little Einsteins' themed activitiy where you "go on a mission" around World Showcase.

I see a lot of comments about the Monorail...

I've never been a huge lover of the monorail system, although, it's not too bad. Here's what I'd like to see with the monorail.

BEEF IT UP! I'd like to see it become a full-fledged mass transit system. (like a subway, only slower) Disney could get really creative with the "show" that they could give while you are on the longer monorail rides. I'd like to see it go underground and underwater.

The monorail could almost become a "ride" itself. Think 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea or Pirates of the Caribbean!

BRILLIANT!!! In all my "musing" I never thought of going UNDERGROUND!!! The theming and things you could do with the various park and resort areas is limitless. I am going to mention your name to Disney. I believe you should be an Imagineer!!! :teeth: (Even though you're a little "backwards"!!! ;) )

I haven't been to Disney in almost 18 years (we are going in ONE MONTH!), so to me, there already has been magical changes! Here are some additional ideas:

#1--Monorail expansion would be brilliant.

#2--I think there should be a way to view one's hotel reservation, ADRs, spa appointments, etc., on-line. The peace of mind factor would be enormous.

#3--Have a clearly delineated rotation of secondary characters, e.g.,
Mondays--Gus and Jaq from "Cinderella" and King Triton and Sebastian from "The Little Mermaid" will be in the Magic Kingdom.
Tuesdays--Simba and Nala from "Lion King" will be in Animal Kingdom and Lumiere and Cogsworth from "Beauty and the Beast" will be in MGM.

Etc. I think visiting characters has become a bigger and bigger part of the WDW experience, and those Disney characters are one of the many magical things that makes Disney different than other parks.

#4--A few more sit-down restaurants, including one dressy one with ballroom dancing so that guests can whirl around like princesses and princes. My ideal way to do this would be to have one or two early evening sittings (4:30 and 6?), with a little ballroom dance lesson aimed at kids and then a kid-friendly dinner dance, and then a later seating or two (7:30 and 9:30?) aimed at grownups.

Aside from them building a monorail in my backyard to bring my family straight to WDW (LOL!!), I too like the idea of a "best guest" type of program. Actually my husband and I have talked about this for years. For people like us who have been to Disney too many times to count, there should be something like they do for cruises, etc.

Besides wishing it was in my backyard?

I agree with the Pepsi idea...Love MOUNTAIN DEW!!!!

A few more hotel options for a family of 5.

Love the idea of expanding the monorail!!!!

For Disney to realize that all families or not a family of four. Give us some options like letting all the mod. resorts allow a family of five to stay there. Why is it just POR? All the mods have the same square footage. I think CB is even a little bigger than the others. Ok, ok, enough venting... I really do love Disney.

I also would LOVE to see a TOT Resort, near MGM, a haunted hotel but all year, and make it AFFORDABLE. It could be the first moderate with indoor corridors or possibly a "deluxe-moderate" like WL is.

I ADORE the idea of a TOT resort - it would be so cool. Or how about RnR and staying with Aerosmith!

Great idea! Ely

I love this thread!!

1# Make the sidewalk from Epcot to the Buses a moving sidewalk. My "dogs" are so tired after Epcot and WS that a moving sidewalk to the buses would be so nice.

2# Renovate Pirates of the Caribbean with Jack Sparrow, oh, wait they're doing that!!! Okay, now renovate the Jungle Cruise please!

3#Run a Safari bus/truck for AKL resort through the extra land into AK. That would be so much fun as if you're already there!!!

4# I echo the idea to expand the Monorail throughout WDW.

5# Bring back the hearse and horse harness for Haunted Mansion.

6# Bring back Hunchback Show & Tapestry.

7# More rides in MGM. Oh, could you update the Movie Ride maybe?

8# A weather change for FL so it doesn't get 100 degrees in the summer???

Just some of my ideas. I always thought Pirates needed updating and look what happened!!! You never know.

AMEN on updating the Jungle Cruise! :thumbsup2 It could look SOOOO much better with the new generation Animatronics!

They have "kinda" updated the Movie Ride, but to to the extent that I'd like. They added some recent movie clips to the ending movie montage ("Narnia" and other more recent movies are now included.)

I would also like to see music :music: added to the Space Mountain like the one in Disneyland. (Disneyland's version is SO much better because of the music track)

Like the concept, but the only problem with underground is the whole of WDW is sitting on a marsh plain. Even the utilidors under MK are technically the ground floor.

Not that going underground wouldn't be cool, just that it would almost be impossible from an engineering perspective. But hey, I guess they did dredge out Seven Seas lagoon back in the days before environmentalism.

Yeh. I understand this to be true. Even if they give the "illusion" of going underground or underwater, I think it'd be cool.

OR . . . Maybe give the illusion of traveling back through time...back to pre-historic days, or to the Mid-Evil times with Knights and Castles, or the late 1700's during revolutionary times. (I think that would be cool too!) Kind of a Monorail version of the "Carousel of Progress".

What would make WDW absolutely perfect would be if we were all there right this minute. (sigh)

I have often wanted a moving sidewalk when leaving the parks as well. I bet they could let us all in for free and charge more for using the sidewalks when we leave and come out ahead. :rotfl2:

Slightly Goofy

A room in Ciderella's Castle to all Disers!!!
Monorails to ALL Disney Hotels would be really great!

More night time entertainment outside the parks for families. Having a early show at Jelly Rolls, or Dance party for families. (Kinda like what they do on the Disney cruise line) My DS is 14, too old for kids clubs and too young to stay alone.

Drinkable tap water!

I know Disney is pretty close to perfect now but what is something they don't offer now that would make it absolutely perfect?

I love WDW very much, but to call it close-to-perfect? Nah, hardly at all.

not that I could afford it buy...

I would love to see a resort in one of the parks...

Such as a small resort in a country in World Showcase...
