We'll be staying at a moderate resort for 10 nights around Christmastime. We are purchasing a 10 day pass with park hopper so we will be able to eat anywhere, including all the resorts as we will have our own car. Where are your must eat restaurants? I should also let you know there are three of us (myself, DH, and DD4). Please let me know why you made your choices. Is it great food? Service? Fun? atmosphere? Thanks in advance, I look forward to hearing from you! :goodvibes

DTD: House of Blues and Wolfgang Puck Express (I know this is CS but we love it)

EPCOT: Beirgarten, Le Cellier (lunch or dinner they are both fantastic) and Princess Storybook breakfast

MGM: 50's Prime Time

MK: Crystal Palace (breakfast and dinner)

RESORTS: Kona (breakfast and dinner), Boma (breakfast and dinner although I have not tried either I hear they are wonderful), Cape May (breakfast and dinner), and the Yachtsman

In no particular order, but always try to hit these when in the world:

Le Cellier (EPCOT; Canada)
Crystal Palace (MK)
Tempura Kiku (EPCOT; Japan)
Chef Mickey's (CR)
Liberty Tree Tavern (MK)
Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano (MGM)

My top 10, in no particular order:

California Grill
Le Cellier
Yachtsman Steakhouse
Hollywood and Vine
Columbia Harbor House
Sci-Fi Dine In
Les Chefs de France
Restaurantasaurus
Backlot Express (MGM)
Earl of Sandwich

I can only comment about where we've been so if you wonder why some aren't on here, we probably haven't been there yet!

Boma - Great buffet - they do have a kid section but my boys tried things from the regular buffet at ages 6 and 8 - at AKL

California Grill - fantastic view of the MK (get a window seat if you can), wonderful food - at CR

'OHana Character Breakfast - Lilo and Stitch are characters there, served family style, great character interaction if you get there early enough (not as crowded) - at Poly

Germany's Biergarten - food is on a buffet and is tasty - atmosphere is fun - at EPCOT

Liberty Tree Tavern - food is served family style and is ok (nothing special though) - we love the colonial atmosphere - at MK

Cinderella's Royal Table for breakfast - while the food is ok at best you have a daughter! It is fun to eat in the castle! (If you go at night you can see the fireworks outside of the windows.) - at MK

Canada's Le Cellier - fantastic meal - love the atmosphere - at EPCOT

We love Cosmic Ray's (counter service at MK) roast chicken (if you plan it right, Storytime with Belle is twenty steps away)

My husband loved Jiko and his meal was very good - I had the pork loin and did not care for it. - AKL

The Brown Derby has very good food, too. The atmosphere is similar to Sardi's in Manhattan (caricatures of "stars" on the walls) - at MGM

Top ones for us...

Coral Reef --Epcot
Nine Dragons --China
Sci Fi Dine-in Theater --MGM

Rose and Crown used to be high on our list until we realized that my Guinness Stew (using the recipe card) was better than theirs. :)

Thanks for those of you who posted, looks like many of you share the same favorites! Ilovefozzie, was there a link to get the recipe for the guiness stew? Sounds delicious! (and isn't it funny when you replicate a meal that you loved at a restaurant, and your version is better than theirs :)

Actually I asked for the recipe and the CM gave me a copy. I make it (during cooler months) at least twice a month. We were very disappointed our last trip when we realized mine was much better. LOL But that's ok! I can make it whenever we want.

If you're interested I can PM you the recipe OR just post it...

Thanks, Jenn, I would love the recipe if you don't mind :) Whenever you have a chance. You can PM me or post if you'd like. That's great that they gave you the recipe. I wonder if that happens at all the restaurants? I can't wait to make it, we are a big soup and stew family and I know DH will be so pleased! Thanks again!

Here's our top ten after 5 trips to the World!

Magic Kingdom - definitely our least favorite park for restaurants, but best has been Columbia Harbor House and Aunt Polly's Dockside. We usually snack our way around MK on Mickey bars!

Epcot -- Le Cellier, Le Chefs de France, Boulangerie Passiere

MGM -- Brown Derby, 50s Prime Time

AK - Flame Tree Barbecue

DTD -- Wolfgang Puck Express, House of Blues

DTD- Planet Hollywood.. The food is average but we loved the atmosphere from the 3rd floor balcony.

MK- Crystal Palace for breakfast (great food and my DD loves Pooh), Cinderella’s Royal Table for dinner (again the atmosphere…request a table by the window overlooking fantasyland at night)

EPCOT- Le Cellier (great food)

MGM- Brown derby (good food nice respite)

Boma- lots of interesting foods to try
Ohana- a family tradition

My top 10 (Not necessarily in order):
V&A - such a great meal on all levels.
Artist Point - varied, unusual menu. Very good service, wine list and atmosphere.
Jiko - same comments as AP
Bistro de Paris - nice upscale french menu. wonderful dining experience.
Yachtsman Steakhouse - Outstanding steaks, great service
Teppanyaki - fun meal
Rose & Crown - love the shepherds pie
'Ohana - fun meal even if the food offerings aren't as good as original
Hoop De Doo - You'll come out of here singing
Olivia's - Undiscovered secret in OKW. Plain food done well

Here's ours:
1. California Grill - one of only a couple places we make sure to go to every trip. Best view of the fireworks and some of the best steak and souffle at disney.

2. Jiko - another one we go to every trip. I usually get the Tamarind Braised Beef Short Rib or the Berbere Braised Lamb Shank. Both excellent.

3. Blue Zoo or Flying Fish - for seafood we alternate between these two every trip. Really fresh, and good atmosphere in both.

4. Citricos or Narcoosees - again we alternat these. Not really sure why as the server different styles. Maybe because they are both at the Floridian. Narcoosees also has a good view of the fireworks and also the light parade on the lagoon.

5. Tepanyaki at Japan - good place for a lunch or dinner and be entertained at the same time. Love that style of at the table cooking.

6. Fulton's Crab - Great seafood and interesting atmosphere.

7. Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater - We see the same clips every year and are still entertained by this place. Can't imagine not having a shake here at least once during our vacation.

8. House of Blues - 3 words, Sunday Gospel Brunch!

9. Rainforest Cafe - we're looking forward to the new Yak and Yetti restaurant this year, but rainforest has always been our lunch spot at Animal Kindgom.

10. Wolfgang Puck Cafe - Best sushi at disney.

Here are my TOP 10 in no particular order

1. California Grill at the Contemporary-I love the steaks and sushi here. The view of MK can not be beat, every Disney fan should eat here.

2. Downtown Disney's Wolfgang Puck Express- For me the is the best counter service meal at WDW. The pizza here rocks!

3. Canada's Le Cellier- Great steaks, wonderful bread and a chedder cheese soup that will leave you wanting more.

4. Mexico's Cantina de San Angel- Great mexican food! The plato combinacion (combination plate) is a my favorite.

5. Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club- Another great place for steaks. I like this restaurant beacuse it is quite and a nice change from the busy restaurants of WDW.

6. Animal Kingdom's Donald's Breakfastoasaurus- This is my favorite character breakfast, not really sure why, I just love it! :goodvibes

7. Hoop Dee Doo Musical Review at Fort Wilderness- Another must do for any WDW fan. The food is great and you will have the songs in your head for the rest of you stay (maybe longer).

8. MGM's Sci-Fi- This is a great place to beat the heat. The theme is great and so is the food. I also like the little movie bits they play.

9. Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge- FUN FUN FUN!!! Little kids love this place and so do most adults (I do),

10. Magic Kingdom's Crystal Palace- For breakfast, lunch and dinner it's a great the eat and get some pictures with Pooh and friends.

Hope this helps! Have a magical vacation :wizard: !

I haven't dined at enough Disney restaurants as an adult to have an actual top 10, so I only have a couple to mention:

#1 - Wolfgang Puck Cafe - this was the best meal of my life, I kid you not! I'm making the gf go when we hit Disney in January AND we're going to his Bar & Grille in Las Vegas for my birthday in a couple of weeks, because I loved the meal I had here so much.

#2 - Le Cellier - delicious and I love the cellar-like atmosphere.

#3 - Sunshine Seasons - great, healthy (I thought) counter service selection! My sister and I ate here twice on our last trip.

I would add Alfredo's to the list, but since they are soon-to-be defunct...*sigh*
