So...I'm considering a weekend trip for my boys 5th birthday next year..
I'm having a brain-freeze regarding what would make a great birthday meal for a boy?

Whispering Canyon
SciFi
Chef Mickey's

You just can't go wrong with Chef Mickey's!
How I wish they would do a PIXAR meal with Toy Story, Monster's Inc., and the Incredibles, etc. Plus, everyone would love a Pirates theme meal, not just boys!
Have a great trip!!

I've never tried the place, but T-Rex in Downtown Disney should be open by then, right? Is it open now for that matter?

I was just going to suggest T-Rex in DTD. It is opening next week

We have lunch res with the Pooh (Crystal Palace?) characters for my twin boys 4th b-day. We tried Chef Mickey for breakfast but it is booked. I am going to keep trying, though. Although the breakfast in AK sounds good, too.

There is so much info to sort through!

T-Rex or Chef Mickey's (we did not like WCC at all--DH got sick on the food--felt it was overrated what little I ate of it)

we vote WCC at Wilderness Lodge/Chef Mickey's at Contemporary Resort/
50's Prime Time or Sci Fi in DHS/Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom

hope this help.... also, agree with princess tigerlily

For breakfast you could do 'Ohana's Best Friend Breakfast. It's a fav for my two DS's. Both my boys really liked Sci-Fi. My DH and I didn't care for the food very much, but loved the atmosphere.

My number one choice would be Chef Mickey's, but Ohana and Crystal Palace would be fun too! If you're looking for something besides a character meal, they might enjoy Coral Reef (if they're into fish and such! I saw so many kids having a great time there), SciFi (depending on how they do in the dark), or maybe rainforest cafe or the new T-Rex? No matter where they eat I'm sure they'll have a birthday to remember! :)

  • The new T-Rex Restaurant - if DS likes dinosaurs or was a fan of Jurassic Park
  • Sci-Fi Dine-In - if DS would enjoy watching old and often funny 1930's science fiction movies at a "drive-in theater." The place is really well-themed!
  • Chef Mickey's - if DS is into classic Disney characters since they are playful here.
  • Coral Reef - if he likes aquariums and/or diving.

I did Max's 5th Birthday at Coral Reef. The food there is mediocre, but the experience was fantastic. His own special menu and a diver that brought a sign over to our table which was right up against the tank. We were right at the spot that the huge sea turtle liked to hang out and swim around too. It was very cool and he loved the atmosphere and the special treatment, he was so surprised.

Well I currently say Chef Mickey's or O'Hana! I spent a B Day at O' Hana and yes I am a girl, but it was so much fun. They brought all the kids around the table to sing to me, I was turning 14 at the time. They servers sang with instrutments etc. It was just very exciting and the interaction was great. It is also not super super crazy where he might not eat like at Chef Mickeys so you don't feel as bad you know? Since I haven't been to T-Rex or seen pics I can not say yet...

My twin boys love to eat at Garden Grill at Epcot. They like the rotating restaurant and seeing Mickey, Goofy, Pluto, and Chip/Dale.

We also like breakfast at Cape May's. Especially looking forward to it now that they have added Donald!

Another vote for Pooh and friends at Crytal Palace.

And I agree, why can't they get a pirate lunch going some place??? Or Toy Story! Everybody loves pirates and Toy Story.

I'm another one that reccomends Garden Grill! We took my son there for his 6th birthday and he loved it! The food was good too. Just make sure you remind them at the podium that it's his birthday. They don't always double check and will miss it.

We didn't do Chef Mickey's for a birthday, but it was great! I would recommend that for a birthday as well!
