WHAT?!?!?!?!?! MUST KNOW NOW!!!

I am sure they will have something on wednesday in seattle, but I agree it's weird they haven't really said much about it. This is the first I am hearing of it...would be nice to go to it too if it were something special but I'll skip it if it's only balloons.

I'm surprised this is such a low-key event; very little in the way of publicity. I've heard nothing of this in local media.

i know...i figured we'd know where by now. i was hoping to bring my girls with me, but if i don't know where the event will be, then i probably won't bother.

in watching clips from the previous cities, it looks like mickey and goofy were on TV at a local news station...

In Vancouver, Minnie was on Breakfast Television in the a.m. and I heard a commercial that some Flight Centres (travel agency) had Mickey balloons "while supplies last". I did not hear anything else though - not sure exactly what happened??

On friday the 23rd it's in Portland at Washington Square Mall in tigard
Yes, they have locations for Portland and SF, but not Seattle, nor did they have it for Vancouver, even after the event passed.

The description of the event says "downtown" so I'd assume Westlake or Pacific Place, or perhaps Seattle Center.

Hopefully we find out soon, I have work until the early afternoon so I dont know if they will still be around by the time I could get to Downtown (4ish) so don't know if I want to try if its going to be a wild goose chase.

Vancouver didn't have an "event" so I would imagine that Seattle might be the same. Mickey and Minnie were on morning television and the balloons were given out at travel agencies. Quite disappointing.

hmm...probably just mickey at the mall here then? And as for the mickey balloons I can skip that :)

I'm playing private detective today.

Called:

Magnolia AAA as they are the closest to downtown: NO, not hosting it
Westlake Mall: NO, not hosting it
Port of Seattle's Seaport line to ask about Bell Street Pier/Pier 66: NO, not hosting it
Pike Place Market: NO, not hosting it
Pacific Place: NO, not hosting it

Any other ideas of downtown areas? The celebration site does specify downtown areas.

How about Seattle Center area--Science Center/Center House/Space Needle/Childrens Museum?
Or how about calling Cityof Seattle administration or Police department. I would think city officials would know of the event and/or police if they are expecting crowds then they most likely are requred to hire police for traffic/crowd controll.

I was just looking up the permit office. :) And trying to find out if there's a phone number for the Harbor Steps area.

I hadn't thought about Seattle Center, but there are public, no fee areas there, when there's not a festival happening, so that's a good idea!

The info for every other city except for Vancouver yesterday and SEattle tomorrow has been on the official website, here.

After I spent a very pleasant 10+ minutes listening to the hold music with Disneyland Guest Services, the MOST EXCELLENT Britney/Brittney/Brittany/etc, CM extraordinaire, found out that it's going to be at Fisher Plaza in "late morning".

I know FIsher Plaza as being the place Komo 4 and STAR 101.5 radio broadcast from. Is there actually an area for an event, or are we assuming this means it will only be Minnie, Mickey, etc on the tv and radio in teh morning?
