What will we carry...and how?

But if I can put charging privileges on my card AND the dining plan, will Disney properly use the one I want?

So can I give them the card and say "charge it" or "Dining plan it" ?? Or am I better off just taking a charge card?

I also tend to de-magnetize my room keys (magnetic personality?) so I assume Disney can re-load a new card for me?

You should specifically tell the waiter whether you are on the dining plan or not. They will let you either charge or use the dining plan on the same room key card.

We got new cards once when my door stopped working with it. I assumed it was a magnetic issue. So I don't see why not. I had this problem a lot with ATM cards. Have you tried putting the room key in a little paper envelope... so it never touches anything else in your purse/pocket? That helped me.

I was wondering about that jacket things myself. Thanks for the info. I am now torn between carrying a backpack or not. If we take a backpack along we will only bring one. My concern is leaving it for rides & that kind of thing. I feel like it's not a good idea to leave vaulables in it if you can't watch it. But then I feel like if I have to take the valuable out of it everytime we go on a ride then it's not worth it. But where will I keep my stuff? I do not plan on getting a locker, I don't want the hasle of running back to it everytime I need soemthing...

All your valuables should either go in your wallet or your fanny pack and kept on you going on rides. Everything else can be left in the stroller.

Ideally the only valuables you'd have on you would be your park tix, room key / charge card, some cash if you're not charging to your room, and your camera. All of these should fit into a fanny pack, or around your neck on a strap.

Thank you! I appreciate the info. :flower:

AND!!! Someone gave me the neatest thing...it's made out of plastic canvas and it's been stitched in yarn with a key on one side. I've been using it to carry my subway card in but plan on keeping my room key in on this trip. I'm not clever enough to make one but I bet someone could figure this out.
