What will the next 17 years bring to DVC?

Looking back to 1991 when OKW was the DVC one starts to realize that DVC has come quite far in 17 years.

Now, there is BWV, VB, HHI, VWL, BCV, SSR and AKV. Hawaii and California have been "announced" and we're all speculating CRV will be within the year. That's (potentially) 11 properties in 17 years!

What do you think/hope is next for DVC? What will our options be 17 years from now?

It sure is fun to dream!

DL & WDW are well saturated with DVC. One of the major hurdles that Disney contends with when trying to separate us from our money is transportation. I would look at the other parks as well as possibly creating a new one. Maybe we'll see Disney park in Vegas or something. It'll have a good tie in with the HI DVC. Who knows...

I would hope the speculated Tahoe property would happen. Also, I don't think DL is saturated with DVC..50 2 bdrm equiv. is not much, so I would think they might do soemthing to get more DVC at DLR..like use the Paradise Pier property for a combo building (I heard it was scheduled to be torn down at one time, but not lately) or maybe something connected to Gardenwalk.

With Disney planning its 3rd offsite property, and Wdw becoming a bit saturated, I would love to see more off site options in years to come.

Wouldn't it be great to see Europe, or other US sites for 12-14 points per night?

I'd also like to see some sort of point system worked out for airfare as well.

I have wondered for sometime if Disney could build resorts at other destinations within the U.S. that would have a WDW component. My thinking is that they could be resorts with the "sales pitch" of go to this resort one year, and Disney the next and then build 1 WDW on-property resort, and several off-property resorts with half and half memberships. I'm not really sure how it would work.

I've just thought that if Disney were to build a lot of properties in resort destinations away from WDW that they would eventually need to build a DVC resort at WDW without owners or reserved for off property owners that would be really desirable that would allow people that bought away from WDW to go to WDW.

Maybe, offsite resort owners would be required to purchase 1/2 of their points at the US destination and 1/2 points at the WDW resort, and then have 11 month advantages for each set of points. Yeah, I think that is how I would do it.

More people and harder to get reservations! Just kidding, well sort of....I don't care, we love Disney and all of the DVC people we've met! We are a unique breed of people!

Wouldn't it be great to see Europe, or other US sites for 12-14 points per night?

Too late at Disneyland Paris, Disney already let Marriot in the door.

I have wondered for sometime if Disney could build resorts at other destinations within the U.S. that would have a WDW component.

This has been proposed under the blue sky Disney. Hawaii may be the first resort to test this, but it mat just rely on the location and Hawaiin themeing.
