I'm thinking of a starter train set like Geotrax . He'll also get some Wiggles merchandise as that is his fav. I would like other ideas so What are you getting for your DS?

My son's fave thing to play with right now is a tunnel. HE loves to crawl through it or just sit in it with his matchbox cars and play in it. His geotrax are a big hit too.

My two year old little guy is getting the following:

The Step Two Lifestyle Deluxe KItchen - This thing is so cool that it makes my own kitchen look kind of pitiful. Paul LOVES pretend food, cooking, etc so I think he'll love this. We have a HUGE kitchen/breakfast area, so there's room for it right in there. Plus, we have a play group at our house once a week, and I know the other kids will love it, too!

Here's a link.

He's also getting the Little People "A-Z Zoo".

Here's a link.

Those are his two big things. He's also getting a couple of fun toddler games (Elefun and Crocodile Dentist), some books, a couple of "Shake and Go Racers", and a set of Sesame Street DVDs.

My mom is getting him an art easle with paper, paints, crayons, a chalkboard, etc. I think he'll love that!

My DS will be 2 1/2 and he's getting an art desk with all the art supplies to go with it. We'll be in WDW the week before christmas so I'm saving a lot of the christmas gift budget for when we are there. He doesn't really "get" christmas yet, so I rather let have whatever he wants during the trip. We'll probably also get him a couple of new DVD's and CD's for the car ride to WDW. He got a geo-trax set for his birthday from his grandpa and I think he'll get some add-ons.

From Santa he's getting a few toys and an Imaginarium train table. He LOVES LOVES LOVES Thomas the Tank Engine. Whenever we take him anywhere that has a train table (Barnes and Noble, TRU) he plays and plays. Made the mistake of taking him to the toy store in the UK pavilion at Epcot and he threw a royal fit when we tried to "tear" him away!

Geo Trax are big and hard to store if you don't have the space. We have stuck with Thomas and Brio...
My DS also loves play dough, crayons, his Power Touch. Bath tub crayons.

GEM,
My DD3 and also DS have the Lifestyle Deluxe Kitchen too. They love to pretend to make meals for mom & dad. Yes, I also think it is a great toy!

If your ds likes trains, I cannot say enough good things about the Brio trains. Our first set was bought a number of years ago for our now 13 yo ds. Younger ds (5) and dd (2) now spend hours playing with it!! All of our kids also have enjoyed the large cardboard "brick" building blocks and wooden blocks --especially the "castle" pieces. Another popular hand-me-down from our older son was a puppet theater. Every year, we add more puppets to the collection. Finally, all 3 of our kids have enjoyed Duplos/Legos and the play kitchen.

Thomas the Tank Engine Aquadoodle Set

Little People Motorized Train Set

Doodle Pro- Little People edition

Tumble Time Tigger

Crawl-through Tunnel

Wooden Puzzles, Books, and an Elmo DVD

MegaBlocks Pirate Ship

...if only Santa's elves could build an addition on our home for all of the new toys! :rotfl:

2 year old boy? Bob the Builder......any and all of it. Bob Bob Bob Bob...................

My 2 YO DS is getting a battery-powered ride-on airplane from Costco. He is an airplane fanatic and I know he will be thrilled! I'm asking for some music CD's and an Aquadoodle from my IL's.

My ds was 2 last year and got the Geotrax. He still loves it and is getting several additional sets this year. It's one of those things that takes up his whole floor, but we put it out for a few weeks then put it away for a while and it is like a new toy each time. Big hit with him and his older brothers play with him too.

My 2 y/o loves his Geotrax. He likes to hold one of the controllers and push it back and forth to make the train stop and go. His 6 y/o brother likes it too. JCPenney has a pretty good deal on a set right now. My MIL is getting this for our 2 y/o for Christmas. It was originally $99.99 but it is now marked down to $49.99. Description states "Includes 19 track pieces and 40 accessory pieces. Train set includes railway, barrel loader and round house." The picture looks like a nice set. If you want to check it out it is
item # TB 653-1006. You can order it online at JCPenney. Hope this helps.
My 2 y/o also LOVES Thomas the Tank Engine-both the wooden sets and the Tomy sets. He plays with some sort of train from the time he gets up and has to sleep with his "Perce" (for Percy) Tomy train every night. :) He is getting mostly Thomas for Christmas-trains, track, DVD's etc.
Good luck on your shopping-shopping for kids is the fun part of Christmas shopping.

I have found that Kohl's often has the best deals on Geotrax. I just bought some and was able to combine discounts. They were already 40% off, I had a 15% off Friends and Family discount and a 15% off for using my Kohls card. I got several sets, some for under $20 and some for just over $20. They also had the extra track sets which were non existant last Christmas. The sets don't have a lot of straight track.

We don't have a Kohl's here. :( But I do find that Toys R Us has the BEST selection for GeoTrax...much better than walmart and target.

Its GeoTrax at our house and a Little Tikes Pirate Ship Playhouse that I got on clearance at Toys R Us for $30!!! (But we have a 600 square foot bonus room so space isn't an issue for us.) I also agree about Kohls having some of the best prices around for Geo Trax. We also have a KB Outlet nearby which had some stuff too!
