With the news of Ridemakerz moving to Market place, what will they use the Giant Virgin Store for. Hope they have plan for fall 2011. Hate to see such a big box stay empty and not drawing traffic.

Apple store would be interesting. Hard to believe that it would do a lot of business but may bring in locals.

From a corporate Apple standpoint, the store would not have to generate a lot of immediate sales if it provides lots of "hands on" exposure to the full line of Apple products to potential customers. Millions of visitors, including many who don't live near an Apple Store at home, could visit the Downtown Disney Apple Store each year. A spectacular Apple Store at WDW could generate millions of favorable impressions (and lust for Apple products). And that would translate to new Apple customers and revenue in the long run.

That said, this rumor has been around for years and the Virgin Megastore space has been available to a long-term tenant for years. If Apple really wanted the space, chances are they would be in there by now.

Good point, although the rent offer may be much lower now than two years ago.

I don't think it would be much of a draw for locals since several area malls have such stores, unless of course it had unique features no one else has.
