What will it be like visiting Aug 10-16???

I am planning my next WDW trip August 10-16 2008. I just went for free dining (8/31-9/8). The crowds were very low and we walked right on most rides!!! It was absolutely wonderful.

How different will it be the middle of August?? Also, are there any specials that are usually offered around that time that I should look for?? I know free dining is later in August, but my son will be starting kindergarten and I don't want to pull him out in the first few weeks.

I was there the 10th-18th and again the week of Labor Day.

The first week was much busier but not as busy as I have seen it in July.

We were there 8/9-8/13, and found it to be very crowded. Not everything, but overall to what we're used to (Jan/Oct). Definitely managable if you take your time - take breaks during peak afternoon hours, go first thing and late at night. Oh, and we were in DTD for all of 10 minutes and avoided it after that - way overcrowded.

August/July wouldn't be my first choice - but DD's bday is in August, and now that she's in school - I'll keep an open mind

We , so have gone late July, mid-August. I'm planning our next for early August.

I think you'll be fine. We go EARLY, and leave around 1 or 2; sometimes we go back in the evening. It was much busier in March, though cooler.

By afternoon, attractions are FULL. ADRs shouldn't be a problem, though. I got an ADR to CM's for 8 two days before we wanted to eat.
