According to the website, the rides temporarily down are: Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin (Ride) (I'm guessing the part with the penguins will be available), Journey to Atlantis, Wild Arctic (the animals may still be accessable- it was that way before the park closed), paddleboats, Sky Tower, parade, Big Bird's Twirl n Whirl, and Cookie Drop (plus the splash pad)
Looks like pet show is gone too.
After looking at their website; it's looking like almost all rides except rollercoasters are closed? Did anyone go today that can report? If so any ideas on why?
They opened yesterday for some kind of preview (cant remember if it was APs or employees, both etc. ) but we're staying across the street and saw ppl. on some of the rollercoasters. They most definitely were open yesterday. Just trying to figure out what exactly will/won't be open. It seems like a lot won't be which is disappointing.SW reopens today (the 11th)
It was a media day. There are some videos on YouTube and some local news broadcasts. I watched some but they focused more on temperature checks, social distancing markers, etc. They didn't really divulge what would be open and not open, unfortunately (at least, the ones I watched). They opened yesterday for some kind of preview (cant remember if it was APs or employees, both etc. ) but we're staying across the street and saw ppl. on some of the rollercoasters. Yeah I tried looking as well, but could only find the new safety precautions. Thank you though...either way I guess I'll find out tomorrow. I will say the SW rep at the hotel has been MIA and the hotel staff says they expected they'd be back before the park opened, but they haven't heard anything from them.It was a media day. This was our experience last week as well. We hadn't been to SW in a long time and it was honestly pretty disappointing. We were there on Wednesday and hardly anything was open. I understand this is unprecedented times, but after being at Sea World at least 5 times I feel they really dropped the ball with the opening. We stayed at a Doubletree Hotel at Seaworld, which should have included shuttle service to Sea World and Discovery Cove and Quick Queues to Sea World. Upon arrival at the hotel we were told that because of COVID, neither the shuttle or the Quick Queues were available. No big deal on the shuttles, but a little bummed over the Quick Queues. We thought we probably wouldn't need them, but we were wrong. We arrived at Sea World to only find Manta, Maco, and the Infinity Falls rides open. There was also one ride open in Sesame Street. Sea World was selling Quick Queues for $35 a person. Between there only being 2 rides open and people buying the Quick Queues we waited over 2 hours for Manta, when the sign said 50 minutes. I have been at Sea World at super busy times of year and never waited anywhere near 50 minutes, let alone 2+ hours.
In addition to the rides being closed, most of the dining places were closed as well. We asked about this before we purchased the dining package for the day and were told there were very few places closed and that all the main dining locations were open. Wrong again. There were 3 and they all pretty much served the same burgers fries and chicken strips. We did find the bbq place open for dinner before we left.
Sea World is a great park and I went in with an open mind because of the COVID restrictions, however I think they could have done a lot better. We waited in line for hours for 3 rides and almost an hour in a food line, because they only had one line open at each place and there were people everywhere. I hope things improve. If you are going in the next few weeks, you should be prepared for long lines and little to do.
For those that have been recently, how was seating for shows? What shows were open? How crowded were animal viewing areas? My DD7 and I are going just to see animals and watch shows.
How far in advance did you get to the shows to get a seat? All 3 shows are operating. The stadiums have every-other row blocked off

We went to Sea World today for less than 2 hours because we honestly did not feel comfortable being there. Many people were not using masks at all or did not have them covering nose or mouth. Limited amounts of hand sanitizer and lack of interest by the staff in getting people to follow the rules. By comparison we have also done Discovery Cove and both Universal Parks in the last few days and have been impressed with how those parks are handling things. Heading back to Universal tomorrow but until the Covid situation is over we will not even consider Sea World and would strongly recommend to others to avoid as well.
