I am having a tough time deciding what I want to put on my holiday gift wish list. My inlaws always get each adult one nice gift (last year I got the 3/4 length north face parka). I don't really need anything right now. I just got myself new running sneakers, which I desperately needed. I can always use new clothes for work. I have been the same size for years so my work clothes get faded with time.

So, if you could wish for something about $100 to 150ish dollars, what would you ask for? I'm hoping to hear some good ideas. I thought about donating to charity, but they already do donate quite a bit to charity every year and in our names for some things.

Please no flames. They like to give and we just got them each a Kindle as their gifts, so it is a 2 way street. I guess I wanted to give them an idea that isn't a gift card.

Well, what do you like to do? I would love a gift card in that amount, or I'd go through the Boden catalog and pick out a few things to suggest. I love to cook-so I'd pick something for my kitchen if I didn't choose clothes. The Sodastream is about $100-make your own sparkling water and soda. A pressure canner. Great boots-the Merrell Tetra Launch, maybe, which are cute and waterproof and comfortable.

I was going to say a Kindle or a Nook, but if you just bought them Kindles, maybe you already have your own. I love the new iPod Nano - since you're a runner it's a great running companion, and even has the Nike+ app. I use that now with my iPod Touch but am seriously considering giving the Touch to DD9 for Christmas and buying myself the new Nano!

Boots are a great idea - or even a gift certificate to your favorite restaurant. You can use it for date night, or for the whole family if you choose.

I asked for nice sheets or nice towels. Boring I know, but I can't justify spending that kind of money when I can get perfectly serviceable ones at Target. It's a splurge for us, even if I know my in-laws think it's a weird request. :goodvibes

I would use that money for some experience--concert tickets, dancing lessons, cooking lessons, spa treatments. I always want to do those things, but I consider them a splurge, so it would be nice to be able to do them without guilt.

Is that per person? If yes why not go in with your dh and for $200-$300 get something for your home like a piece of furniture, a painting, a luxury kitchen tool, a rug, an electronic or something of good quality like wine. Anything that ordinarily you would not spend the money on.

My in-laws spend that much money on each of us and we really struggle with what to ask for - I ask for Disney gift cards a lot but I know that drives them crazy

I get a new camera just about every other year. I know what you are going through and my MIL really hates to buy us gift certificates - she likes to get stuff so I do try to think of things for her and she does like to get me a camera.

Are there any new silly gadgets you would want? Do you have a blu-ray player? Or how about an atomic clock with weather on it? I love having that so I can see the forecast for the day when we get up. Its nice when getting dressed to know what it is like right then and as the day goes on.

I would also check sharper image for ideas.

Tickets for a concert or show that I'd really like to see.
Tickets to a local aquarium/museums

I know this is still a gift certificate but its a different kind I think.... A Spa Day one, if you have an XBox360... The Kinect, or Shark Steam Mop n Vac! Those would be mine.:goodvibes
If you like coffee, latte, hot tea, and hot chocolate then a Tassimo. I love mine. :lovestruc

I just checked my amazon wish list and this was the only thing on there in that price range:

DIS rules disclaimer: I don't know the artist, I just like it.

Sarahshopejewelry.com is something I've discovered lately that I like- I think it's pretty and part of the proceeds fund mircoloans to women in 3rd world countries; Not sure if there's anything there in that price range though.

I just got myself a Polar FT7 Heart Rate Monitor. That was a bit under the $100 range.

I'd also like a good stand mixer for the kitchen. Any kitchen appliances you'd like? I got a Keurig "for DH" :rolleyes1 last Christmas and we both love, love, love it.

I second the idea of a steam mop... that's what DH got me in return last Christmas. :rotfl: Also love it.

Any hobbies that you might need something for? Cricut cartridges for scrapbooking? Embroidery machine for sewing? New snorkel equipment or underwater camera? Wilton cake decorating set? Photo printer? New piece of luggage or travel specific clothing? New ski boots? Hiking gear?

Man... I need to cut down on my hobbies... :rolleyes1

These are both awesome ideas. I love my high thread count sheets and would never be without them now, and my mom takes my sister and me to shows for Christmas.

I'm asking for a subscription to ancestry.com from my dad, I think.
