What were you doing 10 years ago to celebrate?

10 years ago DH and I toasted with sparkling apple cider and were waiting the arrival of DD#1.

5 years ago DH and I were driving my Mom to our house because I was in labor with DS (our 3rd) who was the LAST baby of New Years Day 2005. Born right after we "got serious about having this baby" having just watched the Longhorns win the Rose Bowl.

HOOK EM HORNS!!

I don't have a clue! I was probably sleeping as I was pregnant with baby #3, which would have made my older ones rather young as well.

I think I might have stayed up to Midnight just to see if the experts were wrong. I know DH wasn't worried one bit about it and figured the Y2K was all hype anyway -- assuming there may be some glitches but not enough to run out and stockpile for the end of the world.

It was the first time I had ever gone out on New Years Eve... it was with my then boyfriend, our first New Years together and we haven't gone out since. He hates going out on New Years.

We celebrated at home with DH's grandmother, our neighbors, and DD almost 3 I was 8 months pregnant and have a great memory of that being a perfect family night :banana::banana:

tonight my DS who will be 10 soon is playing his video game in his room, DD in her room reading a book, DH watching tv in the bedroom and here I sit on the DIS  still a great family night

I was home with ma and dad on winter break from college. I told mom all my friends had sweeties and why didn't I have one? At midnight, I wished to find my prince charming.....he came into my life in April and we've been togehter 10 years.

My DD was just a month old so we spent the evening in hanging out watching the ball drop. Not much different than tonight actually!

I doubt we did anything big. I was 5 months pregnant and had a 18 month old. We didn't get out much in those days ...

I remember the y2k hype - my dad retired in October 1999 to avoid it. He had worked in IT since 1964 and wanted no part of the panic.

NYE is always pretty huge for us and I can vividly remember the one we celebrated 10 years ago. We had just moved to Denmark (had been living there for 6 months) and we had a few friends and their families come over to our place. We had a fancy 3 course meal, played some party and board games and fired off A LOT of fireworks.

That is pretty much the same as we did last night :)

I managed to stay awake long enough to make sure that the world didn't come to an end. Then, we left for Disney World on the 2nd.
