What were we thinking going during spring break??

Your suggestion for a title "I touched a green army man" made me laugh out loud (at work). Believe me....those guys were hilarious.

Friday 3-19-10 continued

We were leaving Mexico and proceeded to walk the rest of the way around World Showcase. We stopped in Norway. We had not done the boat ride yet. (the line had always been too long). Well today it was reasonable enough so we waited. There were some very rowdy teens in line with us but we didn’t end up in their boat, so all was well. While exiting through the Norway shop we took this very ugly picture. (Do people actually buy these things???

Next we stopped in Italy. I wanted some more of those wonderful chocolates to take home to share with others. I knew that we had a small balance of about $7 remaining on our Disney Visa rewards card. Candy shopping would be a perfect time to use this up. We ended up with 10 pieces for a total of $6.93. That left a remaining balance of $.07 on the card. I don’t think we could have gotten any closer without going over. (just like playing The Price is Right) LOL.

While we were passing the American Adventure theater, we took this picture. We will be seeing the concert later tonight.

Next we stopped in Morocco. We have never been to the Tangerine Café and since we were sort of doing a snack around the world lunch, we thought we could share something here. The line here was way out the door. No Way were we waiting there. Tangerine Café will have to wait until next time.

We headed out of WS walking back to the BW. The Badgers were playing basketball at 3:00. We thought about getting a table at ESPN but then decided watching on the computer in our room would be just fine. There was a little time to spare, so I called my sister. She was leaving later today for her vacation in St. Martin. Remember her son (my nephew) was getting married there. Also we would be out of touch for the whole next week, so a lengthy conversation was in order. We had a nice chat. Oh, and by the way….we did survive being apart from each other for the two weeks.

We enjoyed the Badger game. It was very close the entire time and the Badgers won. At a little after 5:00 we walked over to Yachtman’s Steakhouse. Our ADR was not until 7:00, but we were taking our chances on getting in early. We were seated at about 5:25.

Friday 3-19-10 concluded

We are seated at the Yachtsman Steakhouse. This is a really nice restaurant and DH and I enjoy it anytime we visit. Neither of us eat much beef. At home we include red meat in our menu maybe about once a month. So this was a treat for us.

We started with a bread basket and I requested the roasted garlic be included. I love the roasted garlic and it is one of the main reasons I visit Yachtsman as often as I do. You can also see the butter and olive oil mixture with a bit of balsamic vinegar drizzled in. Oh and a little pink sea salt. There is a lot going on with that butter. :rotfl:

Appetizers

DH had the strawberry salad

I had the seafood salad (another one of my all time favorites) Here is the description from the menu. Lobster, Shrimp and Jumbo Crab with Lemon Creme Fraiche and Avocado Cream. And it is as wonderful as it sounds.

Entrees

I had the filet mignon with garlic mashed. The menu showed this steak with a red wine sauce. I substituted the peppercorn brandy sauce

DH had the 12oz strip with augratin potatoes

Since it was our last night at Disney we even splurged and shared a small cheese cake dessert. It was listed as no sugar added….so how bad could it be? The menu describes it as Mango Cheese with raspberry foam and artisan ganache

We used our TIW discount card here. We paid with the last of our gift card. So now our Disney Visa rewards card and our gift card are all used up. It must be time to go home.

After dinner we walked back to Epcot for the David Cassidy concert. It was the last one of the night. We enjoyed the concert. David don't look (or sound) too bad.

Sorry this one is a little blurry

After that we walked over to Soarin and used that FP we got this morning. It was only about a 15 minute wait. Our ride was during Illuminations, so maybe that helped cut down on the crowd in the Land. Next we did the boat ride in Living with the Land. After that WE WERE DONE. We walked back to BW, packed up our stuff, watched some more basketball and were in bed by 11:00. We were going to be up at 4:20am to catch Magical Express at 5:20:eek: This is the earliest we have ever been on ME. Our plane was departing at 8:30am.

Saturday 3-20-10 Departure

I won’t bore you with the details of getting home. All went well.

We were very happy with our 8 days in WDW. Every thing went well. But 8 days is plenty for us. We will be returning sometime in the fall. Just don’t know when yet. We are waiting for the regular season Packer schedule to be announced. We really want to see the Packers when they play in Atlanta. So once we find out when that is, we will plan our fall trip around those dates.

See ya real soon. And thanks for following along. Now I need to get back to reading some of the many many trip reports that are out there waiting for me. :surfweb:

Lynsue,

I really enjoyed reading your trip report. Thanks so much for sharing it with us. It made me feel like I was there ...running for those TSM fast passes, and eating all that wonderful food!

I made myself stop and watch these guys in February. It was about 50 degrees that morning, but warmed up to 69 with the sun shining. Darn right balmy weather for us Wisconsin people in February.

Found your TR, way on the last page.
We really should meet up one day.
I see you are going in November.
I'm trying to convince my dh to go in Dec. I want to see the Osbourn Lites.

Actually we booked a trip for October 14th to 20th. So it looks like we will miss each other again. Let me know if your plans change and we can possibly set up a meet.

We have done December and it is nice with all of the special things going on. However, we found when we got back home, it made Christmas very hectic that year.
