If you could go to WDW for one week, at any time of the year with the exception of November and December taking into consideration the park times, crowds, special events, and prices, which week would you choose.

I'd say September, October, January, and February would be ideal months. I don't know enough to narrow it down to weeks. My reasons are: lack of huge crowds and mild, cooler weather.

The second week in September. No crowds! :thumbsup2

I'd suggest looking at what special events happen at different times of year and thinking about if you'd want to see a particular one or avoid a particular one. For example, I read something from a family that stays at the all-stars and said they'd never again go during the time of the cheerleading championships because the resort was so awful at that time. I personally have thought it would be fantastic to time a trip to be able to hit MNSSHP and food and wine at the same time. I'm not one to go when the biggest crowds are there, but if it is a slower time of year like Oct. and there are some extra folks for those two events, I think I'd still have a great time. :smooth:

We love to go during the 3rd/4th week of October. The weather is still warm but not too hot, MNSSHP, The Food and Wine Festival and crowds are low. We went a few weeks earlier this year and it was very hot and more crowded!

I'd go the 2nd week in January (after New Years and before MLK). I've never been at that time, but I figure not many people will take a vacation right after the holidays like that and the weather would be cool and comfortable.

I love the second week in May (thats when we are going again this year :teeth: ) and the second or third week in September!!!

The last time we went was the beginning of March. The weather was nice but it was just before spring break so I think alot of people had the same idea as us. The next time we go is the end of January. I figured that was a good time to go! Anybody disagree?!?!?

The second week in September!!!

We went this year and it was wonderful. Still hot like summer (It was cool in Chicago while we were in WDW!) And no crowds. We only had to use fastpass one time! All the other times we just walked on the rides or the preshow part.

I totally agree with the above poster!!

We usually go the week before Thanksgiving. That to us it the best week to go to WDW. But, you said we can't pick Nov/Dec. So, I would have to say 2nd week of May. You have warm weather, but not too hot. The flower and garden festival is going on and Epcot is so beautiful. The crowds are pretty low. Last May there were times in the evening at the MK we were able to walk on some rides and ride some things numerous times in a row. That would be our 2nd choice if we couldn't go in Nov. Personally we like to swim and need it to be very warm out to do so! So for us Jan is out even though it is suppose to be great for low crowds. Also even though Sept has low crowds, I would be worried about hurricanes and the heat.

We always go the last week of September/1st week of October. MNSSHP and the food & wine festival are great events. We have been luck with the weather being beautiful (chancy with hurricanes). Kids love swimming at night and it is still warm enough. And usually the crowds are low. However, our experience this past visit, the crowds were more than we were used to probably because of the Free Dining that was offered. But still waits for rides were 20 minutes at most.

The 2nd and 3rd weeks of May. The weathers great, not too much of a crowd, flower and garden festival, mother's day and 2 of my kids birthdays.

I've been several different times of year (May, August, January) Our honeymoon was in January. Now you will deal with some potential weather but for the most part it's a mild winter season. We even swam on our honeymoon. The crowds were lower and the weather was plesant.

May is our favorite time to go. The weather is usually beautiful, the crowds are low to manageable.

2nd week of september was nice. It is still hot though, and it can storm (but it's like summer and it usually passes through quickly). Hours are shorter, and if you want to see Spectro/Wishes, you'll need to plan carefully. Park hopping is needed more than at other times of year. Also, there is a hard ticket event, Night of Joy, at the MK so it closes early one weekend. Not a big deal, but something to plan around or plan for.

We've gone a few times in March and April. The weather is usually wonderful, but crowds can be very bad. I've visited a couple of times in early march (1st-2nd week I think) and you do have to plan for lots of visitors, even if it's not around Easter.

This past year we went I think 2 weeks after Easter, the last week in April. It was pretty crowded, but not really a problem as we try to use fast pass and good planning. The weather was great! We did have a Grad weekend with an MK closing early on fri/saturday.

I can tell you when you don't want to go because its too busy, these are 1st hand experiences. I'm sure there are other days to be avoided but I'll leave that to other posters.
