What website has the most reliable weather information?

Okay... so I'm obsessing over the extended forecast for the days we will be in Anaheim. We will be there Feb 23-March 2. Every website I look at says something different. But most say chance of rain almost every day and temps barely reaching 60 and one even says high 40's for our first two days :-(. I am not so concerned about it raining some as I am about the low temps. don't want to be wet AND freezing.

Sooo... what website do you look at for weather? Is there one that tends to be more correct... I am really trying to decide what to pack- capris? jeans? jackets? winter coat? all of the above?

Alright, here's the deal - as a resident of SoCal, I'll let you know that you just CANNOT predict the weather for two weeks from now accurately.

I use weather.com (which is also the weather channel), but I swear it's really only accurate a few days out. Three days ago it was practically 80 and sunny here. Today it is 55 and raining. Your temps WILL be cool. It might be 60's during the day as the high, but when the sun goes down, it will be 50's and yes, 40's. Dress in layers or better yet, go back to the room for a break to change into your "cold weather gear" before returning for the night. There is a such a wide range of temperatures throughout the day that you probably want to bring a lot of choices. Bring long pants and tees, but also long sleeves, hoodies, jackets... I even need scarves and ear warmers, and I wear UnderArmour tights under my jeans, but I'm also admittedly a wimp in the cold. Also, bring tons of pairs of dry socks and always have at least one pair of dry pants just in case you do get wet and need to go back to the room and change. Wet jeans = pure misery.

Thanks Sonnyjane. That is sort of what I was thinking. I have some thin gloves packed already and I have been debating on something like underArmour too.
So was it cold there today? I noticed that the high was around 60 and it was rainy... I was wondering if 60 and overcast/rainy if cold. Here in Iowa if it were 60 degrees and sunny we would be going without jackets... but maybe because it has been so cold here and we are sick of our coats.

I was going to ask where you were from, since that makes a big difference in how warm/cold you'll feel here. If you're coming from Iowa then 60 will feel downright pleasant! But I have spent 10 years in Florida and 3 years in Southern California so I can let you know that I'm spoiled to the core when it comes to weather.

The way the weather works here is that it takes a while to warm up in the morning, and once the sun goes down, it cools off dramatically. That means that in the morning, all the way up until 10-11 AM it could be sweatshirt weather, then it will probably be warmest from 12-4, then it will start to get cooler again. This makes layers the way to go. I'd much rather be too warm than too cold, which is why I tend to over-dress rather than under-dress. You can always take off a second shirt and toss it in your backpack, but it's a hassle to walk all the way back to the hotel (or more dangerous yet, hit up the gift shop to buy another layer).

I guess I'm saying don't pack as if you were heading to the arctic circle, but definitely pack enough to keep you warm and comfortable. When you're walking around at night you might not notice it, but when you're standing still in one place, like for an hour during the World of Color process for example, you might notice a chill. And yes, in my opinion, 60 and overcast is MUCH cooler than 60 in the sun!

We're going to be down there during the same time and I keep seeing that it will be cold and sunny. I sure hope it won't rain! Thanks for the tip on the spare pants. Friends of ours were down there last week and they wore shorts during the day and put on sweaters in the evening. So I was originally only going to bring down one pair of pants, now I will bring 2 or 3....

You might also want to consider renting a locker on Main Street if you want to bring extra clothes and not go back to the hotel to change. I don't like having to carry a jacket around if I'm not wearing it, but that's just me.

Weather.gov is always the most accurate to me. Its the national weather services website. With any forcast 2 or 3 days is about all the farther out that has much accuracy. Accuweather.com predicts 15 days out which to me is pointless.

As a "local," I would recommend ABC7.com. I also would tell you not to even try to figure out So Cal weather at this time of year 2 weeks in advance. Wait until your trip is a bit closer.

We like accuweather.com but for Southern Ca you want to check close to leaving because really So Cal weather forecasts will change regularly on any site up until you are very close. The 7 day forecast I printed from accuweather for our December trip was about 98% on and their rainy days were exactly right. We are from Montana & took jeans and t shirts both long & short sleeved and Hoodies for morning & evening and were fine.

Be sure to take an extra pair of shoes as soggy shoes are just as bad if not worse than soggy jeans! On rainy days throw dry socks in your backpack, if nothing else, you will be glad you did.

I had never used accuweather before our last trip but that is the one that was on my little desktop suitcase from Disney Vacation Connection. The 15 day forecast was a joke it totally changed but once it got down to a 7 day it was really accurate.
