Glad you got some swimming in! I love Ashton's ears. :)

I think you should go to Disney the 2nd week of November. The Christmas decorations should be up by then and it will be a slower time. :)
I didn't think Christmas was up until after Thanksgiving...
now you have given me ANOTHER week to add to the mix!!! ;)
I don't know if I want to wait 1.6 yr away...I may very well have to check into Mardi Gras; but, it will be Sep/Oct before I can book so I have time to toss it around...

We had decided that we would sleep late (8:00 am) before getting on the road--But, we had a small matter of lost keys to address...

So, when I left off I mentioned that Dayne had lost Danny's truck keys Thursday night. We looked under the bed, pulled the sheets off our bed, unloaded all the suitcases that I had packed the day before, (Dayne had taken a shower in our room after we left for HS), we than moved to the kids room, retraced his steps to the truck, and to the bus. NO LUCK! after Danny had his shower Friday morning he went down to the front front desk to see if anyone had turned in the keys. NOPE!

They gave him a number for lost and found which is for all the parks and the bus system. Would they possibly have his keys that were lost somewhere between our resort and HS after 7:00 pm the night before.

Now, as I mentioned Danny always has an extra key to his truck in his wallet just NO Extra keys for the four tool boxes.

We still needed to bring the stroller to POR, we were part of a stroller swap, Gwendolyn needed gas in her car, and we needed to go to Lost and Found (it is located in the pet center by MK.

Now, in hindsight I wish I would have taken Ashton & Dayne swimming while they did all this.:cutie:

Well, Gwendolyn and crew went fuel up (they fed the ducks at the station-while waiting). We went to POR to drop off the stroller and went to find Lost and found. Danny walked up to the window (knowing there would be no way someone turned them in). Told the CM where we though they were lost (HS). She said she would be right back, when she returned she had a frown and said only one set of keys were turned in last night.Danny looks down and smiles that was them. "THE MAGIC OF DISNEY":woohoo::yay::banana::cool1:

Dayne did not have to pay for new locks...that's what Danny kept telling him:upsidedow

Now, to the long ride home...we have decided that if we drive again we will def. stop half way or the beach on the ride home...it was a very hard sleepy ride home...

Next final thoughts on our rainy, crowded, hot trip to Disney and
WHEN SHOULD WE GO BACK; AND WHERE SHOULD WE STAY???:confused3

Ya!!!!! The lost keys were found! We break our drive to WDW into two days. On the drive home, we drive all the way through. We usually don't pull into our carport until about 2:00 a.m. But, I would rather just get home and get in my own bed.

How's our little buddy doing? I hope he's recovering well.

:)He is sore; but he is doing very well! He starts running around and playing w/his dinosaurs or trucks and about 15 -20 min later he sits down to watch TV (tired). Thanks for asking!:cutie:

The ride THERE is easy; I guess because we are so excited about getting there:upsidedow...the ride home was another story.:scared:..I normally cannot sleep in a vehicle. But, this go round I could not keep my eyes open.:guilty:
Danny on the other hand dozes EVERYTIME he gets behind the wheel (I think he had sleep apnea (he certainly snores loud enough :rotfl:)--its getting worse, the last couple of years). And we love the beach; but, I think we are going to try and fly next time.

Okay, I'm only on page 6, but I'm subbing. I'll try to finish catching up tomorrow. I've got to get to bed. :)

:welcome: I hope you enjoy and don't get too bored along the way...I love when new people join in:yay:
you signed in just in time to catch the final thoughts...can't believe its almost over...

Now we need to decide when can we return back to land of magic...:pixiedust:

Well, it looks like I have come to the end:sad1:.
My final thoughts on our trip to Walt Disney World:

next time I will make sure to make a check list for Danny & Dayne such as

wallet, keys, walking shoes, extra shoes in case the first pair get wet, & personal medications --that I do not normally think of

I always pack there clothes so that is covered

I don't need as many changes of clothes for Ashton that I had brought along this time...

The first thing that SHOCKED:scared1: me this year was that Universal has a much better parent swap program than WDW and I really like their basic dining plan (this was great with three young adults!!!)

This was our first trip to WDW that we were not able to cover everything. I had read how people could not cover everything in the parks and I thought that was nuts. I still feel the creation of Fast Passes contributes to this and I certaintly DO NOT like the way Universal does the Express passes. We did use the fast passes and enjoyed them just wish they would let you do two rides in the same hour; that would help cover time as well.

Ashton did really well! which I worried about being that he was only two I bet he does not do as well next year. My only other WOW was the lines for the characters. I never remember lines like that in the past!!! I almost need to plan an extra day just for character meeting.

I also learned not to plan when an event is taking place; the "Flower & Garden Show" we were unable to even approach Epcot during the day.

next installment: DANNY agreed to return before our usual 5 year return
WE ARE GOING BACK NEXT YEAR!!!:woohoo:
Now: WHEN, where, and how many of us will be going to Disney in 2010

I hate that your report has come to an end :sad1:. Your pictures are so sweet. I miss my kids being little like Ashton. I am glad you came over to my PTR for September so we can keep in touch.

Isn't Disney's Lost and Found wonderful? We had Niko at the kennel where lost and found is located. Well, I had left one of our spray fans on the monorail our second day and it was just gone. Dallas walked up and asked the man at the L and F window if anyone had found it and guess what? They had :yay:.

Now it is time for you to start your PTR for your trip next year :thumbsup2.

I hate that the trip report has come to an end. At least you know that you're going back so that'll help the Disney depression.

Okay, I made it to the end! :) It sounds like Ashton had a wonderful time (I always gauge my trips on how much fun the kids had).

I'm glad he is doing well. Is he feeling any better now.

I can't wait to see your PTR for next year. When we moved to Georgia from Florida (where we used to go at least 4 times a year) we decided to go every other year. BUT next year we're having a special meet-up with some online friends, so I get to go two years in a row. Next year is our 10th anniversary too, so I'm hoping to do something special.

Can't wait to hear what you decide! :goodvibes

Next final thoughts on our rainy, crowded, hot trip to Disney and
WHEN SHOULD WE GO BACK; AND WHERE SHOULD WE STAY???:confused3

Danny & I decided that although we had tons of fun and really enjoyed watching Ashton take in all that is Disney. We did not enjoy going in May; the time we went the first week of June we said we would never go back at that time of the year. Our trip was orignally planned for Dec/Jan and we had pushed it back to May. Danny wanted to push it back to Sep when the free dining had come out...but, I wanted my Disney fix and was tired of waiting...this trip was in the planning for 5 yearswe had agreed a good while back we would return every 5/6 years. So, much in our life had pushed it back and back and back...I just did not want to wait any longer.

So, Danny has given in and agreed to a return trip next year 2010:woohoo:. Only stipulation: low crowds, cooler weather;)

I was thinking Mardi Gras, but, realized that President's week is the same week--so that is a NO.:sad2:

Now, the choices will be the last week of Sept first wk of Oct if "Free Dining" :upsidedowis offered OR the first/sec week of Dec. depends on when the filming of the Christmas parade takes place. Since, we can't book until August when the new rates come out we have time to contimplate (spelling).

Now, I need to decide where will we stay and this will be a dining trip this go round so I will need lots and lots of help deciding on ADR's.

The other good thing about this trip: the Dayne will be out of school and Gwendolyn in her last semester:woohoo: --they get to pay for themselves:thumbsup2
Danny & I may pay for their room only (depends where we stay).

I would like to learn about the DVC points, also I can get 50% off rack rates at the Swan. The other places of interest is: CBR, AKL, the Contemporary, and of course POFQ. And, I can't wait to hear what Dana thinks of the POP
I know I said no values again; but, I have heard good things about POP.

Thanks! everyone who has tagged along w/ us on our journey and I look forward to all your PTR's and TR's. My new PTR will follow in a few months!!!
It's been great making new friends!!:grouphug:along the way!![/COLOR

Thank you to everyone who has sent hugs, prayers and your concerns for Ashton.

Today, Ashton is STILL very sore and does not know when to stop. Until he cannot go anymore. He does not understand what his body is trying to tell him :confused3and he does not know that he has a 7" incision on his back:guilty:. He cries when he sees the small stitch from his chest tube, amd goes on about his Boo Boo.

We go to the doctor Thursday for an x-ray and to remove his steri strips and stitch.

Since, this is not genetic Danny and I (mainly me) are trying to decide if we should have Dayne checked out. Although he does not have a stridor (loud breathing), he does have symptoms that I would think (knowing now what we know) that should probably be checked out. My thought is better be safe than sorry; and have a young adult who appears healthy drop dead of some type of cardio problem. {we are seeing more and more of this these days--baseball, football, basketball players having problems or dying--suddenly}.

Thanks again!!! and I look forward to keeping in touch with you all.:flower3:princess:

I can't wait till you start your PTR. I have really enjoyed your TR :thumbsup2. I made the same declaration about going to Disney in May in 2002, but we ended up going last year and this year in May because it was the only time Amanda could go because of her schedule. We also like going to Disney during Mardi Gras because we just don't really get into MG anymore :joker:.

I am so glad Ashton is doing so well. I know you are having a hard time keeping him settled down, I know it feels good that he is just being a little boy though .

We will keep in touch through my PTR and your next one .

Ashton went back for post op today. The surgeon said everything looked great;, but, NO swimming for at least two weeks:sad1:. It is sooooo hot here I could not wait to jump in the pool. I may have to bring him to my mom's one afternoon over the weekend. I could probably use the break anyway; I just feel so guilty when I bring him there and I stay home:guilty:.

Cardio said we don't have to go back for another year. And, that I should bring Dayne in to have him checked over (better to be safe than sorry, he said--hey that is what I said:cutie:). Might do that right before school starts and I get Ashton's hosp bills taken care of.

Don't know if anyone will read but sharing anyway.:upsidedow

Ok, I lurked. All the way through. Bless your baby boy and good luck in the future. Prayer is very strong. It works.:grouphug:

Hip! Hip! Hooray! Ashton is discharged! I know what you mean about being hot. Today's high was supposed to be 95 here in West Monroe. I don't know what it actually is right now but I can tell you that the air conditioner doesn't stay off but a few minutes before it pops back on.

What did Dayne say about having to go in? Just wondering 'cause I figure it's a typical teenager response like...."Do I have to?":rotfl:

Dayne said "Oh! ok, I'm not going to see a doctor; until something is wrong with me." I told him why can' you run a basketball court for a game, if nothing is wrong with you. He tells me you can't even it do it twice; maybe you should go get check too!:rotfl: I told him no I'm just fat and out of shape!
We are just going to make the appt and not tell him. He's afraid he will have blood drawn; not an injection he doesn't care about that but says it hurts more to have blood drawn (that's a first for me).;)

For those of you just joining now (7/16/09)-- welcome.:welcome: .. my thread has been moved to the complete TR section.
