It is Pleasure Island that I was thinking of... but, thank you for reminding me of DTD. We did both in 1996 and I was combining them in my planning mind. I remembered what it stood for in bed last night trying to dose off:headache:.

I have a month to go and already getting anxious about it. We pay cash for a trip (NO charging allowed) so now I am starting to get nervous-- did I save enough money:scared1:I even started adding things up...until I fell asleep...not the kind of sheep I like to count:eek:

So, we decided to take two cars instead of renting (mentioned that in earlier post). Well, DH just told me that we are able to use his truck. Normally most people would say take the car!!!!right... well you have to understand we drive a Mach I Mustang. This was our change of life purchase:rotfl:; before the change of life surprise angel;). DH drives a luxury F250 which is a company vehicle; but, rides like a dream:cloud9: and has an inverter for our DVD player:happytv: for the boys.

So, when I start to put DS's travel bag together I now get to pack DVD's. I think I am going to start putting it together Friday (I watch two other 2 yr olds Mon-Thur). I'm going to go ahead and put his keep my mind going bag and his DVD bag. I'll save the snacks for a general bag for us allpopcorn::. After all we plan to leave around 3:30 am in hopes that he sleeps for the majority of the ride. DS16 will sleep for the enitre trip--lol:lmao:.

I sat down with mapquest today:surfweb:... it will be a 9 hr ride...translates to a 10.5/11 hr ride for us. We have to stop and let DH stretch that hip of his (truck should help this), let DS2 run around.

30 days to go...:woohoo::yay::banana::rotfl::dance3:
wish I were going with those of you who are leaving in two weeks...:flower3:

Hey just think you will get LOTS of great tips and ideas from all of us going in two weeks. :cheer2:

That dvd player will come in handy! We're bringing ours too but our drive is 19 hours :lmao::happytv::happytv::happytv:

We will be leaving around 4am and then stopping in Kentucky to go to Dinosaur world. That will hopefully be our first stop. We'll be dressing Madeline in her travel clothes for bed the night before so we can just toss her into the van and go. Hopefully she'll stay sleeping that way.

yeah!! you're right!!!
gives me time to listen to what ya'll are bringing and what I will need to bring. I have never taken such a young one w/us before.
Dayne was 4 at his youngest; our trip was the second week of June and it was HOT!! He would not eat! all he wanted was apples and popcorn. We stayed at the POR, so the food was really good and more like what he was use to eating (gumbo, jambalaya... believe it or not we do eat that alot). all my kids eat alot of rice dishes--my mom is truly a cajun cook--I'm trying to get a way from that.

I worry about DS2 not eating... he has problems swallowing w/the trachaelmalaisa. He eats alot of baked potatoes and cream soups. So, watch out for those types of food and let me know on your trip report.

DH and I are thinking we may change some things in our plans...
we do ya'll think???

Currently we are booked May 22-29 @ ASSp our rates are $75 and 69 per night per room (we have two rooms). We were planning on stopping in Clearwater on the 21st that would be about $150 a night (that I really would rather have at WDW). This change would save us about $100/hopefully I can talk my girlfriend into coming to stay w/us in the house if we go this way;)

So, here is the new idea...
I received an email today for a house between Universal & WDW for $89 nt plus cleaning fee.
:confused3
So, if we change our plans to:
May 21 check in house --p/u tickets @ SOG-- run to Wally world--relax by pool at house
May 22 Universal
May 23 IOA
May 24 breakfast @ Tusker House ressies @8:30 (will we be able to get in the park if we don't check in until that afternoon park opens @9:00-does anyone know:confused:) --spend time in park, check in resort,
May 25,26,27,28 will have rework according to EMH --OHhh boy...driving DH nuts...this is fun

anyone ever stay off site in a rental house???

I like your house idea! You'll have SO much more room! We're staying in a 3 bedroom condo and are looking forward to it.

I hope you can get into AK before it opens as we have an early ADR there too.

Hi there! I live about 20 minutes from Dinosaur World. My girls love it there. I think it's funny you are coming all this way and stopping there. :goodvibes

I believe you just have to have park passes to enter for ADR's. I believe I remember reading this and the CM mentioned it on the phone. So, I'm sure we are fine.

You're right but I have read some posts where they didn't open the parking lot til like 10 minutes before park opening. That's what I'm worried about.:scared1:

oh neat! Do you think that an hour or so there will be enough time? We're not planning on doing the fossil dig or anything.

We've done 8am ressies for BBB and CP at MK and never had a problem with parking. I haven't done an early ressie at AK but we just had to tell them what we were there for at the entrance to the parking lot and they let us right through. Good luck to both of you!

I think you can do the highlights in an hour no problem. If you had more time and had never been I would suggest Kentucky Down Under also - you get to feed lorikeets, pet kangaroos and wallabe's, tour a cave (sp?)etc. It's pretty neat and in the same area. On certain weekends it's $5 admission. If you stop at a rest area in KY definitely pick up some of the tour books. They will most likely have coupons for reduced admission to Dinosaur World. Since you are in Mammoth Cave's back door they offer coupons for a lot of the attractions in that area trying to get tourists in. Dinosaur World is a good choice. It's never been too crowded when we've been there. Hope you have a good time!

I wonder since we will be checking into ASSp if we go there early say 7:00 if we check in (I know they will not have our room ready; but we could check in) park our cars at the resort and ride to the park. I wonder if that would work in our favor. Our ressies are for 8:30 that should give us time to jump on a bus (Ithink)

I think that might be a good idea. AK is the only park I've heard the parking lot horror stories about.

we will also pack diapers (potty training now, finally--not pushing it though, for disney reasons and he is having surgery on June 8 and it will be easier in a diaper than a catherer), 8 pairs of shorts , 4 sets of p.j.'s, and a few more t-shirts. He has the largest wardrobe pack OH! and his swimsuit and towel

three bags to pack: the "Winnie the Pooh" is for books, toys, color books, & crayons: the "Cars" sling bag is for DVD's which I have decided not taking all 8 only 5**Cars, Peter Pan, Little Mermaid (for DD and DS2), Bolt, & Nemo**:lunch bag "Cars" for snacks; plan to use "Winnie Pooh" backpack for diaper bag in parks [my only problem w/the sling bag and backpack is it has his name on the bags--don't like to use his name in public]

Great stuff! :thumbsup2 He should have plenty to keep him occupied. Seeing all of this cool stuff makes me wish I had a little boy. :sad2:

and I always wish I have a little girl, again... the little girl I watch I spoil I spend more money on her than her mom pays me--lol. Having a boy and a girl the same age is so much fun... sometimes I wish I had twins (but, most days I'm happy her mom picks her up:rotfl:

I love those rompers you're bringing! Sadly we no longer do rompers since we're potty training.

I think I have 15 movies along. LOL

So, I talked Danny into taking DS2 to see "Earth". I was thinking this will certaintly keep his attention he loves animals. Well, Danny & I enjoyed it. DS2 did also when he was sitting still:scared1:. I had brought him to see Madagasgar 2 so this was not his first time (he sat still for that one). Needless to say Danny do not go with us the first time and the entire ride home I had to hear I told you he was not ready for that. And that is how he is going to be in Disney!! I really think I can handle a two year old acting like a soon to be 3 yr old; than having to hear how he aggravates Danny and Dayne. I may just have to do the cell phone thing and DS2 and I will seperate and enjoy ourselves so the grown baby boys can enjoy their selves:rotfl2:

Only "25" days away:woohoo: I am really getting nervous:eek:; do I have enough money!!!Gwendolyn is now asking if we can do DisneyQuest or Cirq.

I can do this; if everyone remembers to just let Disney do the magic:wizard:.

Sorry, guys just venting...my stomach has been nervous all weekend. Maybe,I will lose some unwanted pounds in the meantime :rotfl:
Have a great day!!!:flower3:
