Just want to share our experience from the places that we have dined during our trip. Overall, food at WDW is overpriced for the quality.
Disney Dining Plan
This plan saved us over $260 comparing to out of pocket cost. The portion of most quick service meal is big enough for two to share.
Dine early
We had lunch at 11am and dinner around 4-4:30pm. We got our table on time or early. Restaurants were not packed with ppl and servers were in better mood.
Mara
We stayed at AKL so we had our breakfast and lunch at the Mara. Really like the African style breakfast platter. Getting hot breakfast was quick, but getting lunch could be slow. The seating area is clean. There were always friendly CMs there cleaning/tidying up the place.
Crystal Palace (dinner)
Food was better than expected. Character interaction was minimal but enough for my family.
BOG (lunch)
Two words -- "pre order"! We went at 11am and the line to order was long! We got seated immediately. I had roast beef sandwich which was good.
Teppan Edo (dinner)
It was a fun dinner experience for my kids. We have had hibachi dinner before. Food and experience at Teppan Efo were just the same as the hibachi dinner we had back in NJ. Will we go back? 50% chance.
Ohana (dinner)
Good food, just a bit too salty. Wish the cook can use less sauce/marinate. Love the desert!!
Cape May Cafe (dinner)
Food is okay but not what I had expected . A bit better than Crystal Palace. DH and I are fans of clams and fish but not crab legs which most ppl eat. Beach Club resort is so beautiful and serene. DH said he wants to stay there next time.
Tusker House (dinner)
It was my personal favorite meal. Love the flavor. Character interaction was similar to that of Crystal Palace.
Hollywood & Vine (breakfast)
Had a PPO ADR at 8:10am so I could sign up my kids for the First JTA show. Not sure if I got up too early that morning, I didn't enjoy the breakfast there. I prefer breakfast at Mara over the spread at H&V. Characters interaction was similar to CP and TH.
Typhoon Tilly ((typhoon lagoon)
Ordered fried fish and fried shrimp. Both were yummy. Plenty of seats in the shade which was nice
Avalunch (Blizzard Beach)
Ordered pretzel cheese dog and BBQ beef brisket. They were just okay. Not the worst but not the best.
That's all folks. Please feel free to ask questions if anything that I can help you with.
