What was your worst eating experience at Walt Disney World?

Most of us enjoy the restaurants we visit at Disney, but we all have bad experiences every now and then.

Speaking for myself, I recall that our family visited the 50s Prime Time Cafe restaurant at Disney-MGM Studios. Our waitress was supposed to be our "sister", but she wasn't really in character. She told us that they actually work their characters better when there are more people in the park. That was pretty sad to hear.

So, what are some of your worst experiences?

Sincerely,

John "MoreorlessaDisneyfan" Kilduff

My worst was a breakfast at Spoodles. Our waitress obviously didn't want to be there and provided terrible service. We never got refills, never got butter for our bread, even thought we asked and asked, and the breakfast was barely warm after waiting for about 20 minutes to get it.

I could understand if the restaurant had been crowded but there wasn't but a few people in there.

ABC Commissary. Slow service and stale food.

WCC.

The worst server we have ever encountered on Disney property.
Food was horrible. The meat tasted like it was boiled.

This is not service related, but were eating at the Cantina by POTC (don't remember the name) and a woman walked by our table, leaned over and just barfed everywhere.... not so appetizing!!

Two words: Trout Waffles

F&W Fest from a few years back. I *think* it was Norway.

Trout... mmmmm
Waffles... mmmmm
Trout Waffles... not so much

Ours was a tie between Marrakesh (surly waiter and so-so food) and Tony's Town Square Restaurant. I used to love it there, but with the new menu changes it's now off our must do list. $19 for a plate of mushy spaghetti with canned spaghetti sauce is just a little bit too insulting, IMO. And to top it off, they now charge you for bread!

Mama Melrose! For sure!!!! Just not my cup of tea
:confused3

Except for the salad, the food was not very tasty and seemed like it was sitting around for a while.

A few years back we went to 50's Prime Time Cafe. We waited FOREVER for our food to come (I think the waiter lost our order). And when it did come, my steak sandwich was basically raw. Yup, raw. Looked like the chef las slapped the steak on the grill for about 1 minute on each side. Needless to say, it doesn't make me want to hurry back.....

LTT dinner - the worst food. Service was okay. the only positive thing was the "un-birthday cake" that they served us.

it wasn't really a bad experience....it should have been handled differently though..

Prime Time, they have dessert menus on viewfinders...well my sister (who was about 3 or 4 at the time) decided that it didn't work, and accidently slammed it on the table to get it to work....and broke it....the waitress or "sister" started making fun of her, and said "why did you break my toy?!?!?" The rest of us knew she was joking, but my sister thought she was seriously mad....and started bawling...

the waitress did apoligize, and bring her a free scoop of icecream, but I don't really think she should have made herself sound so mad at a 3 year old, It took me a while to realize she was just joking....

For now and forever: Sci-Fi Dine In!

Not only were the burgers inedible, we had this creepy server who kept telling me to "keep my hands to myself" and to "keep it cool since we were in the back seat of the car". :confused3 Never heard of any other server doing this there, it was weird!

Three, all at MGM. Rosie's ... took waaaay too long to place our order and receive the food. ABC Commissary ... worst tasting food ever. Sci-Fi ... my steak dinner was horrible; tasteless steak and half-cooked potatoes. Ironically though, that is where we had our best server of the trip.

We had an early dinner at Raglan Road. We also had DD6 with us. We were not appreciated by the waitress.

Also, at 50s Prime Time Cafe, our waitress told us up front that she didn't feel well and almost called off. Needless to say, the interaction wasn't very good.

Oh, and I thought the cuban sandwich at the ABC Commissary was delicious. DW and I noticed that most of the food there is ethnic and unusual, which might account for a lot of the hatred you read about.

And to top it off, they now charge you for bread!

FINALLY - now i understand. we ate there on a past trip (a few years back) and really liked it so we ate there again this past August. i thought it was very strange that we didn't get bread as did my DH. We asked, and our server said we couldn't get that on the free dining plan. WHAT????? I guess since we had already ordered out appys and our dinners that adding the bread would have been an OOP item. Very strange. He could have said that though instead of just saying we couldn't get that. only italian restaurant i have ever been in where you didn't get bread with your meal.

Not to mention that the roof was leaking on my son, we asked to be moved and the guy had us all get up, shoved the table a foot forward and said there ya go. the drip still spashed up on the boys back/legs the entire meal. What the heck?!?!?!

We mentioned to a manager how unhappy we were. we got a half hearted appology, but no change in table (which was all i was looking for)

I had forgotten until I read this thread, but ours was also Mama Melrose's. We signed in (back when you could get in to a dining place without an ADR). We waited over 45 minutes. We thought maybe our table was taking longer becuse we had no ADR...when I finally checked, they had lost our check-in card. No apologies, and we still had to wait for the next available table, which took several minutes longer. I was about to ask where our table was a second time when they called our name. No extra apology or compensation for the extra wait - not that we asked. Then the waitress was awful. She was slow to take our order, the pizza took forever, and was cold when it arrived. At that point, we were so hungry we ate and cut our losses. We didn't want to lose any more park time. I'm pretty sure we left cash for the bill - just so we wouldn't have to wait for change/cc signing.

Prime time, we didnt like the food here at all.

I've never had a bad meal, but I've had a boring one. I really didn't like the lunch at Norway. It was the princess lunch, so I guess the food wasn't the main focus. But I was surprised at how bland the food was. I will say the service was excellent.
