What was your pregnancy craving??

For all 4 of my kids it was fish. I hate any kind of sea food but the second I was pregnant I craved fish and chips. I also wanted pickles and ice cream for a while with my first.
My one daughter she ate raw beets out of her MIL's garden. But if she smelt, saw or someone mentioned the word fish she would run to the bathroom.
My other daughter drinks coffee but while she was pregnant she couldn't stand it. She also couldn't stand poultry or I think pork.

With my oldest I crave Big Macs. Hated them before that pregnancy and haven't had one in the 17 years since, but I couldn't pass one up then. The next pregnancy it was Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia ice cream.

I know, I craved pig intestines.:confused3

Very popular here , but no way in heck I could have done that when pregnant .. heck I still can't, but lots of folks eat them. They sell them in 10lb buckets at my local high end grocery . LOL.

With my last, I craved hamburgers and milk. Funny because DS is a milk addict and loves hamburgers! He ate so many last summer on vacation we had to force him to eat something else. :lmao:

I craved milk with the girls too and now DD#2 is lactose intolerant. I always wondered if that was related but it does run in my family so who knows.

I had twins so only one pregnancy.

I craved red meat as well but I didn't ever eat it because I only craved it RARE. And by rare, I mean I salivated when I walked by the meat case at the grocery store. Well done was NOT appetizing to me.:rolleyes2
(I usually eat my meat rare, but even that seemed well done then!:rotfl:)

Orange soda. I worked in the same plaza as a Publix. They have fountain drinks in their deli. I used to get at LEAST two HUGE orange sodas a day(usually the last one was for the ride home at to enjoy at home). At least until I chugged one so fast I threw it up on the walk back down the plaza. I was good on the orange soda after that........and still am.

The only other thing was balsamic vinegar. JUST balsamic vinegar. I would put some in a little bowl and just sip it or lick it off of my finger. :confused3

Pregnancy makes you do weird things.

with my first, I craved many things, yogurt, chocolate milk, roasted red pepper hummus with pita chips, bananas, which I think I am allergic to, my mouth and throat would get all itchy and feel swollen, but I still ate them and Wendy's double cheese burgers with just cheese, lettuce, tomato and pickles, and their good fries, I hate the new ones, of course they have changed the pickles too, i hate them as well!! I could not stand the smell or sight of barbeque sauce, and had to drive past a sonny's everyday on my way to work. I worked at Publix and couldn't even stand to look at the sealed bottles of the stuff, that and all raw meat, it sucked!! I also couldn't stand the smell of Subway, and that was all my hubby wanted to eat, I would usually stop off for some for him after work and they would see my car and know what I needed and I would pay when they brought it out!
With my second he mostly had me craving the yogurt and the hummus and pita chips again, and lime frozen fruit bars, and lemon sorbet!! Thankfully I was never sick with him!
My third made me crave pb&j!! I HATE peanut butter!! But I ate it for him, of course it is his favorite thing 5 years later!! I also still had the hummus and yogurt cravings. The funny thing is they all love yogurt, but hate hummus!! He also never really made me sick, just a little nauseous so that was nice of him!

By the way, I couldn't bring myself to eat anything with barbeque sauce on it for several years after my daughter was born, it turned my stomach for a long time, happily I am over it, I love barbeque!!

With both of mine it was Milk and Graham Crackers and tomatos also. Not all together lol. My hubby would bring home a gallon of milk every other day and he drank very little of it.

Currently pregnant! In my first 22 weeks I lost 22lbs with hyperemesis. I couldn't keep anything down and I DREAMED of food all the time. It was like torture. When I was able to start eating, all I could get down was plain pasta, toast, or potatoes. Oh and iv fluids. :rotfl: Got lots of those. Yuck.

Now I am feeling so much better and starving all the time! I crave strawberries and pineapple mixed together! And I have been drinking diet dr pepper which is something I never had before.

For my entire pregnancy I have been craving strawberry lemonade! I swear it helped with the nause. I still barf and get barfy a few times a week, but nothing like it was and I am gaining weight at an alarming rate now.

One weird thing I have noticed is that if I want something I see and HAVE TO HAVE IT like cupcakes, Ill buy them and then only have like half of one. Then I don't want anymore. Weird.

DD - I craved peanut butter all the time. I could not get enough. DH would frequently come home and find me eating it straight from the jar. DD does not like peanut butter. I could not get enough chinese food either. I could not eat meat. It just turned my stomach. DH gained more weight than I did since he was always having to eat my dinner too.

DS - I craved red meat. I pretty much wanted bbq ribs every day. A nice medium rare steak was a close second. DS is not a big meat fan. He prefers chicken or fish.

Mine was raw broccoli with ranch dip. I used to eat bags of it in front of the TV at night. Also craved strawberry milkshakes and fries from McDonalds.

My Dr told me no milkshakes or softserve from fast food places. I am glad to hear your kids turned out ok, because I had an eggnog milkshake from McD's and then got scared. I had forgotten . So many rules. My mom thinks they are all crazy said she ate whatever she wanted when she was preggo.

Why did your Dr. tell you no ice cream from fast food places

Chitterlings w/ coleslaw, and hotsauce. Could not get enough of them. They come in 10lb buckets, my mom cooked me a bucket a week. They were so good at the time.

Oh Gross! :crazy2: Being in the south, I know people that like those also. They smell like nothing else I've ever smelled cooking. :faint:

My cravings were always Mickey D's french fries!

Grilled cheese sandwiches!

I can't have them anymore due to a sodium restriction. :sad1:

Sure never heard of that - had my share (still do) and my kids were as healthy as could be (grown now).
