What was your first car?

Ever since myself, DH, and DD[19] have been driving we have owned a TOTAL of 4 cars -
62 Nova
85 Horizon
78 Chevy Truck
93 Caravan
2002 Saturn Coupe

We are STILL driving all except the Nova -- I know, we are pitiful! LOL
:D

Ruby/Shotgun was a 91 red Corolla

My first car was "Ramblin Rose" --- a 1962 maroon colored Rambler. One of the boxy ones. I loved that car.. Bought it for $100 in 1969, and drove it all over NJ and down to FLorida and almost back in 1970 when I got married. (with a case of oil and about 6 mostly bald tires in the trunk.) Made it just to the border of NJ when it collapsed and died.:(

Didn't have a car until I married DH. We had picked out and new 72 Monte Carlo that I drove. The first one that was really mine was a 76 Malibu Classic. Loved that car!

1978 Chevy Monza, bought in 1982, for $2900. It was a black hatchback with red interior, 4 speed, which took me about a week to learn to drive.

a 1993 Cayman Green Ford Escort LX 2 door hatchback, which I bought approximately four hours after I received my driver's license.

My first car was a 1994 Dodge Charger, given to me by mom and dad. Couldv'e be a 'vette but dad didn't do 5 speeds (that was a bummer). Loved my Charger though!!

First car I bought was a 1998 Ford Escort EXP. Had that until DH and I married, traded it for (I think) a Ford ranger truck.

Now we are driving a 1994 Mercury Tracer wagon and a 2001 Aztek.

My first car, which I bought in 1983, was a 1966 Buick Special. It was white and was in top condition. They guy who owned it before me had a roommate who was a mechanic and made sure it stayed in great condition. When I got out of the Army, It made it from Tacoma to Houston (3000 miles) with no problems at all. It was still running great a couple of years later when I got cut off on the freeway and had to turn into a guard rail to keep from hitting another car. It pushed the fender back a good ways and buckled one of the doors really bad. It was still driveable but would have taken too much to repair it so I sold it to someone who wanted the engine. Every now and then I really miss that car :(

73 Impala, got it when I was 15 (dirving age was 16), fixed it up (stripped it, did some body work, painted it) and sold it before I was legally able to drive it.

First car I was able to drive was a 70 Mach-I Mustang....wish I had kept that car :(

ejigs, you had a Mach 1? I love that car.

A 1972 VW Beetle I bought in 1978. First car, first loan too! It had been repainted a really nice midnight blue metallic. It was baby blue originally, still showing on the inside ;). I LOVED that car...........except the heat vents wouldn't close and burned my toes in the summer and the defrost never worked in the winter hehehe

A 1952 Nash Rambler that my parents gave me when I turned 16 (1962). They had gotten another car a year or two earlier and put this one away in my grandmother's garage for me.

Not exactly a "cool" car in it's day (or any day since, I suppose), but I have more than a few good memories :D

1970 Plymouth Scamp (aka Dodge Dart) with a 318 engine and a 3 on the tree manual shift. TO date it is still the weirdest car I have ever driven. My dad found it for me (only cost me $600 in 1984) and said if you can drive this, you will be able to get in ANY car and drive it. He was right!

I drove that thing literally until the parts started falling off around the engine.

1971 Mercury Montego. At least I think it was 1971... It could have been a couple years older. It was a hand-me-down.... Not exactly a compact car either.

1971 El Camnio SS
Big engine, Big Tires, Big noise and little payments, those were the days.SWEET:smooth:

1989 Honda CRX Si

I am glad that it couldn't talk. :teeth:

A rust colored 1974 Pontiac Grand Prix! It was loaded and it was a boat! Could never park that thing!I can always remember being so TOTALLY embarrassed because my Mom would call it a Grand Prix... she could pronounce Prix the right way
