I started dating someone when I was 16, pretty serious relationship that lasted until after we both graduated HS. I think my Mom assumed I was "active," but we weren't. Just a personal choice...but definitely empowered by the fear of getting pregnant (I'm still not positive I even want kids.)

I remember around 3rd grade my Mom giving me "the talk." I think it was a good age. I was old enough to understand things and it made everything sooo not a big deal to go to her if I had questions about anything.

Hopefully, 'the talk' will include respecting your partner and 'no means no, no matter when it comes in the conversation.' Not saying your DH will do this but last weekend, we had dinner with 'friends' and one of the men was saying how 'hot' his son's girlfriend was. Then he said he had told his son, 'while you're in high school, the dumber the better.' WTH? We ALL expressed disgust with this guy's conversation.
