My vote is for the Empres Lily...all three of the restaurants that it encompassed. I remember my first character dining experience "Breakfast Ala Disney and still have the autographed picture they gave me. I remember the waiters at the Fishermans Deck being fantastic and funny. I remember the Steermans Quarters having the best steaks I ever had!

Which one do you miss?

Chef Mickey's when it was a sit down at DTD.

I miss ALL the restaurants before free dining ! This was when ADr's were not needed, food quality and choices were great, and there was NO dumbing down of menus :thumbsup2

The original Chef Mickey's and Empress Lily. But, I second almost anything before the dining plan too when you didn't have to be a planaholic to do WDW.

I have to agree with Mickey2000. Things have really changed. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to decide where you want to eat when you get to Disney.....
On another note I thought Flaglers was also very good...

DH and I always had a great meals at Alfredo's in Italy.

Artist Point when it served breakfast and had characters (though the dinner still rocks there) and I enjoyed the Gourmet Pantry at downtown disney though it isnt really a sit down restaurant. I will miss Spoodles now that it is gone though!

Fireworks Factory! I miss the drink machines!

for one we really miss is the Papetee' Bay Verandah. It had a wonderful atmosphere, superior food and outstanding service. It was always a "must do" for every voyage home.

Now to find something like this you have to go off property :(

I cant remember what it was called, but when I was little I remember going to a character breakfast I believe in downtown disney. And I'm pretty sure it was on a boat of some sort. Me and my brother both still have our autography plutos from that breakfast and LOVED it!

Does anyone know what it's called?

I miss Palio at the Swan. It was always a good meal with great service. I also miss the old Tusker House in AK, they had the best salmon dish that was so cheap! It was the best counter service around.:thumbsup2

Oh I dearly miss Alfredo's! It was my FAVORITE restaurant in Disney. I also miss Spoodles too but have heard wonderful things about Kouzzina so I can't wait to try that!
