Mine was Flowers for Algernon. I just loved that book. Go figure its on the banned book list LOL

If we're talking through all grades of school, then mine would be The City Boy by Herman Wouk. I read it for the first time in the fifth grade and still like it to this day :)

I had several! Back in about 3rd grade we read Julie of the Wolves -- one of my all-time favorites. Then there were Islands of the Blue Dolphin and Streams to the River, River to the Sea. In later grades, I loved To Kill A Mockingbird and The Count of Monte Cristo. :)

Actually the one I remember the best is The Scarlet Letter. We read it our freshman year in high school. The teacher who taught it was a wonderful teacher and made it interesting.

That's a tough choice - we read some very good ones (and some very bad ones, too). But I think my favorite was Rebecca.

To Kill a Mockingbird closely followed by the Hobbit.

Great Expectations. It was one of the few books I actually enjoyed reading (and, understood the entire thing! LOL).

To Kill a Mockingbird, and In Cold Blood.

A Separate Peace by John Knowles and
To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee

I have reread both of these books since then.

To Kill a Mockingbird & Catcher in the Rye

My favorite was Little Women which I've read countless times over the years. Strangely enough, I loved Dante's work when I was in college. :teeth:

Speaking of threatened books, I bought To Kill A Mockingbird today and intend to let my son read it when he's a bit older.

I had a book recommended to me by my 5th Grade teacher Mrs. Combs and I still love it to this day...

A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L'Engle....

Holycow

The Westing Game when I was younger and Heart of Darkness in High School.
