What Was Your 4th Fastpass? No debates!

SATURDAY UPDATE

We used our first 3 at AK first thing this morning. We then went immediately to HS and booked TSMM for 6:15pm. We had to try three different kiosks before a time earlier than 7:55pm showed up (we have HoopDeeDoo at 8:30pm, so couldn't do that late).

We took a quick break at our hotel room and are about to head out again for our TSMM FP, then onto MK before hitting HDDMR. We intend to run inside MK to hit the kiosks and try to book something for late before taking the ferry to HDDMR...we'll see if we have the time to make it back and use it after the show!

BTW, HS is PACKED today (there was a 140min wait for ToT... I am serious). AK was completely dead. We road Everest 3 times in about 10min using FP and Single Rider.

I should also note that we are a fit, young couple that does rope drop every single day of our trip. Our strategies would never work with children, additional people in our party, or anyone that prefers a leisurely touring style.

The extra FP disregard teiring and also if you previously rode a ride.

This is music to my ears! Good to know in a slow time you can have both a Soarin' FP+ scheduled for early in the morning and still score an extra FP+ for Test Track later on :woohoo:

Just curious, do you have to use three FP+ before you can go to the kiosk?

For instance at Epcot - what if we used our FP+ for Soarin and Spaceship Earth and canceled the third one? We don't plan to use our third one.

Or should we wait until the third one expires and then go to the kiosk?

I can't remember all the time details, but we've been doing 4-6 per day. We could have done more (quite a few more), but skip anything that seriously does not require a FP. We've booked things like Rockin RC, Tower of Terror, Big Thunder, Space Mountain, etc.

EDIT: I should probably also add that we book our original three late morning/early afternoon. We are major park hoppers and generally hop 3-4 times daily, though between 2-3 different parks (thus hopping from and back to the same park sometimes).

Off-topic, but great googly moogly! How do you manage all that hopping? Driving? Busses? Taxis? I can't imagine all the driving, and I didn't think any busses went between parks, so taxis are the only way that makes sense for me, but still! That's amazing!

Since the other threads have turned into debate threads, let's see if we can get some real reports.

If you have booked a fourth (or fifth!) Fastpass. . .

1. Which park(s) were you in?

2. What time(s) did you arrive at the kiosk?

3. What was the wait for your kiosk?

4. Which 4th (5th, 6th) Fastpass did you book?

5. What other options were available?

6. Did you try adjusting the time on your phone afterwards?

Please, only reply if you are either a) making a report, b) asking a reporter a specific question about a report, or c) answering a specific question about a report. No debates or side topics. We all want to see how this is working.

I was in MK on Tuesday. I used my last FP at around 5 p.m., then went to the FP+ kiosks at Philharmagic. No wait; walked right up and got myself a FP+ for PP between 7:10 and 8:10. Lots were still available: BTMRR, HM, Space, ETWB, but no Splash. I didn't try adjusting later; I was fine with the time.

lol... we take the buses. Sometimes from park to park, sometimes from our resort (Coronado Springs)...occasionally from other resorts. Today we had 6 separate entries (3 parks and DisneyQuest which we found lame and left right away). We did 5 FP (Safari, Everest, Dino, Toy Story, and Big Thunder), HoopDeeDoo, and lots of other rides plus lunch. Our basic strategy is to avoid the crowds and use FPs, so park hopping becomes necessary based on the time of day. We get there at rope drop and leave after close every day.

You see a list of all available attractions (with scrolling)

Once you click on the attraction, it lists the available time slots. You can use a back button if none of them work for you to return to the list of attractions.

The only attractions available are the ones in the park you are in currently. As soon as you go to another park, you can change your FP to something in that park at the kiosk.

Can you only do this in the second park after you've used at least one FP and the other two have been used or are at least past their time(expired)? Or is it possible to, say, use two in the first park and then hop, go to a kiosk and book there? I'm thinking not, unless of course the 3rd time expired. But, just wondering.

Thanks for all the info you are sharing with us! :)

In your opinion, do you feel the scheduled FP's would have been better used for the afternoon at HS and your AK morning rides standby? I am struggling to see any value in using the power of pre-scheduled times if we do AK at rope drop and would like to know your thoughts in hindsight. Thanks.

Don't say that! We were young commandos once too. Our DD6 knows how to be ready to head out more than an hour before rope drop, prioritize rides for the TP, hurry to the next step without being distracted by dresses and tiaras in the stores, etc. She was even trying to hurry Gpa over spring break that if he didn't hurry, we'd miss rope drop at the zoo! It is possible to train them for commando touring early.

That being said, she would never make it through 8pm HDDR and we try to have at least one slow day to savor things more, if we are going on a longer trip.

FYI, HS is packed today because it is "Star Wars day" - May 4. As in "May the 4th be with you."

Actually, I found it to work out very well. There are very few rides at AK and the waits were 20-30min each by 9:30pm. We didn't want to spend long there (we'd already been on a previous morning), but had an 8am ADR at Boma and thought we should stop by bc it was so close. It opened us up to go to HS in the afternoon, then MK in the evening with the freedom to book multiple FP. It is great once the first 3 are gone bc we've found that most of the good stuff is still available in the early afternoon and with close times. For example, we can get a 12:45pm FP for ToT at 12:30pm (when the wait is 40min)... go ride ToT at 12:45pm and be eligible to make a new FP right after.

Sunday 1:49pm, Epcot, 5/4/2014, seems busy, first sunny hot day in a few, got Test Track as fourth FP+ for 5:45pm. Illuminations was available, everything but soar'n was available. Unable to change the time of test track to an earlier time on my phone after the fact.

I would like to know the answer to this question also. If you cancel the third can you go ahead and make another before the time slot on it ?

Hs was a mess today because they had ride issues all day. At one point rr and tot were done at the same time. There were actually relatively small lines for the special merch today.

From: http://www.wdwmagic.com/other/mymag...ing-and-an-increased-number-of-selections.htm

"Once one of the original three FastPass+ selections has been used, all three must expire before the additional FastPass+ can be made at a different park."

So either make the third one super before your others, or soon after. If you do the hour window after, that should give you your transport time.

If you are wanting another tier'd attraction, then I would quickly ride that 3rd ride (thinking rides with little waits like Figment (not Captain EO as that is soo long)) and head to a kiosk straight away and hope for the best!

Not to go off topic but I keep reading people saying things like "I don't want to wait in long kiosk lines so I can skip long lines at the rides". We were at all 4 parks over 6 park days a few weeks ago and never saw a line of any kind at any of the kiosks. I'm sure there can be short lines of a few people deep on occasion but this long line at kiosk fallacy needs to be addressed because it just isn't true. It might have been true on a couple of 9 or 10 CL days a few months ago, but it isn't true anymore, at least it wasn't on our 5 CL, 6 CL, 7 CL and 9 CL days a few weeks ago.

Long lines for FP+ lanes also didn't happen. Only saw that once at BTMR one late afternoon and not for us. All of our FPs were literally or practically walk ons at both the first a second scanners.

CL = Crowd Level

Thanks for the information! We will try to change Nemo to Figment after our second FP+ (Soarin) and hopefully get an earlier time, then ride and head to the kiosk.

Spaceship Earth, Soarin, Test Track, Maelstrom are the only attractions we care about at Epcot. We love the World Showcase and spend most of our time there. Hopefully, we will be able to get another tier 1. We will be in Epcot May 28 when SDMT opens. Maybe everyone will be going to MK instead of Epcot.

This may seem like a silly question but when the 3rd FP+ has been used and you are eligible for the 4th........

Can one person in the party go to the kiosk and book it for the entire party (that is connected thru MDE) or does each person have to go up to the kiosk individually?

You can use a 4th as soon as you use all your 3 FP+ selections or when the use periods expire, whichever is first. You have to go to a kiosk to book the 4th & cannot be done through the app.

Only 1 MB is needed to be scanned provided everybody is linked, it automatically selects your entire travel party.

For me it was EPCOT at 3pm, I had 6 or 7 CMs with iPads all to myself & I got a Test Track FP+ for 6:45, could have had from as early as 4:30 though!

How does a FP expire? I thought if you missed your window, you could just rebook it for any other time throughout the day. We rescheduled a few if the standby line was short. If you don't use your 3rd, isn't your fourth really just your 3rd actually?
