What was with the crowds?

This is not one of those novel length trip reports. I am just trying to figure out why it was **PACKED** at all the parks from 02/21-02/24. It seemed that the whole state of Louisiana was there. All the buses were jammed. I have gone in February before and it was a pleasure, but not this time.

Mardi Gras! A lot of the schools in Louisiana are out for that holiday.

Oh yeah - I hear ya! I usually go in January & February because it's so quiet. If I had thought for a moment that half the state of Louisiana would be there I would have picked another week. Don't flame me - I have nothing against Louisiana. I have something BIG against huge crowds.

This was the same experience we had last year when we went the week of mardi gras, it was crazy busy!! I had people on this board say they were there at the same time and saw no crowds?! There were 90 minute waits at Peter Pan by 10:30am. If we ever go in February again it will not be around that time (and be aware it changes every year).

We also experienced when we had our second trip during Mardi Gras week, it's really crowded but we had a wonderful trip.
