What vitamins, probiotics, etc. do you give your kids to build up immunity?

Tiger, what's the update...how is she doing? Feeling better, I hope.

I'm giving my kids their flintstones vitamins with extra vitamin c and ddrops.

Update:

Thanks all! This is an older topic, and so thanks for people caring about my DD!

She has been feeling well. She still has a bit of a puffy throat, docs say it's because she was so sick. She hasn't been sick since - we are taking Kindervital liquid vitamins, Flu Immune spray and Vitamin D drops. We don't hang out much in public places during cold/flu season, so that helps with staying healthy as well. Their school is beyond vigilant with keeping kids healthy as well.

Thanks so much for everyone's info and well wishes! Tiger :)

[The year my daughter was 5 she had strep throat 4 times, 2 of those requiring 2 round of antibiotics EACH. That was SIX ROUNDS of antibiotics in a year.

Here's a tip I found out the hard way. A few years ago in the summer I got strep, did the penicillin route, knocked it out. About two days after finishing the antibiotic, I got it AGAIN! I'm thinking, wth is going on here? I go back to the doc and she asks me a question and I felt like slamming my head against the wall. She asked if I'd replaced my toothbrush. well DUH! Of course I didn't because it wasn't old, but the stupid thing harbors bacteria. Any time you get sick, throw that puppy out and get a new one. I felt like such a dope, how could I not know that one. So...next time anyone in your house gets a virus like that, or strep, or the stomach bug, grab new toothbrushes for everyone affected. I'm so sorry if your doc didn't tell you this and maybe instead subjected your sweet child to unnecessary antibiotics and illness, when this could've been the culprit. HTH

I'm glad she's doing better. I didn't see any posts about eating yogurt. You did write about eating healthy foods, I love to make yogurt smoothies for my DD and myself for breakfast w/plain yogurt (we don't want the added high fructose corn syrup) orange juice, flax meal, and fresh or frozen fruit. This week it's been bananas, mixed fruit and blueberries, with just a dash of honey if it's too tart. Love them, you get two for the price of one and your children will probably love them! Here's to staying healthy!

Thanks - good tip. We've been doing this for years. We replace toothbrushes very often and only use paper cups that get thrown out after each brushing.

Thanks, Tiger

Thanks! She is sensitive to yogurt at times, so she has it sparingly. I am looking into probiotics. She used to get the powder stuff, so I am on the search for that.

Thanks again, Tiger

I started Chaeli on the Flintstone's Gummie Vitamin and a Vitamin D supplement. DH and I also started taking them as well.

My kids take 1 multi vitamin a day, DS8 takes Flinstones gummie and DD13 takes One A Day for Teen Girls. Neither child gets sick very often but, they have always been that way.
