What universal hotel?

Hi we are planning on doing 1 or 2 nights at a universal hotel before or after our Beach club stay but unsure about what one to pick.It is mainly to stay and do Harry Potter.
Would like a bit of luxury so will probably do club level but have never been inside any of the hotels so would love some help with deciding
It is at the beginning of November We will be going.

Any of the three on-site hotels is great. Read the Universal forum to get others' opinions, please. Hard Rock Hotel, Royal Pacific, and Portofino Bay all have their pros and cons. Would this help? http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1396528

Yeah, definitely visit the Universal section of Disboards. You can find good reviews and pics of each hotel.

But, for me personally, I prefer Royal Pacific. We stayed at their club level once and had a great, great time!

You cant go wrong with staying at any of the 3. I have stayed at all 3 multiple times and have never been disappointed. My favorite hands down is the Hard Rock though. Heres my take on each one

Portifino - Most expensive, a little more elegant feel to it, furthest walk and/or boat ride to the parks.

Hard Rock - Middle of the pack price wise, little more edgy and younger spirited. Plenty of families and kids so not to worry about a spring break college type atmosphere lol. Closest Hotel to the parks. Back of hotel is right up against Universal Studios.

Royal Pacific - Cheapest of the 3, a little bit of a walk or boat ride to the parks but not as far as Portofino. Great atmosphere and pretty laid back vibe.

Even though Portofino is the most expensive,I prefer Royal Pacific or the Hard Rock!
