Just like DisneyJimbo said. The only thing is that at Pop the thermostat has a motion detector, it goes off when no one is in the room and when sleeping. For this reason we stopped staying at Pop. ASsports, ASmu, and ASmo has a standard thermostat. When staying at Pop we came back to the room and it was warm and stale inside. Woke up sweating a different night. No thanks! Some Deluxes have the same thing.
As I mentioned, the thermostats do not use motion detectors.I have never heard about this motion detector thing! I thought that AC units kept the room at the temperature that they are set to, so that your room is still cool when you get home after a hot day at the park![]()
Does anyone know which resorts have these motion detectors, or where I can find a list?
The thermostats at the All-Stars Resorts are of a standard design and do not have any special energy savings features. You set the temperature and the A/C will cool the room (or the heater will heat the room) to your desired level. Thanks for the tips, but everyone seems to be talking just about Pop. What is your experiences with the thermostats at All Star Movies? I am trying to decide between the two resorts and this may be a big part of the decision. Thanks again!![]()
My arm wasn't high enough to make the ones in CSR turn on when I woke up hot, so used the TV Listings card, and waved that and it kicked on.Each room at the Pop Century has its own combination A/C and heating unit. They are mounted in the wall at the front of each room. They do not share any ventilation ducts with other rooms. Each unit has a fresh air intake vent on the outside wall along the walkway.
The thermostats contain an energy saving sensor that will moderate the temperature when the room is not occupied. The sensor can not be fooled by the use of a helium filled balloon. The sensor is activated only by the narrow range of infrared heat given off by a human body. The sensor is not a motion detector.
Passive infrared sensors have been used for many years in intrusion alarm systems. These detectors can be set to ignore cats, dogs, birds, etc. and only trigger an alarm when a human body is detected. They can even be set to ignore a small human (a child) but trigger upon an adult human (based upon larger body mass). My arm wasn't high enough to make the ones in CSR turn on when I woke up hot, so used the TV Listings card, and waved that and it kicked on.
So, I'm wondering how this infrared heat thing works.![]()
