What type of wedding did you have?

My wedding was full blown, grand scale -- like a lot of weddings of 22 year old women who let their mother plan the whole thing.

Would I do it over again if I were to remarry? No way. It was nice at the time though.

We had 250 guests, a night time wedding, high mass in Catholic church, sit down dinner, open bar, lots of dancing. Most of it was a blur to me 1 hour after it was over, and its definately a blur to me 17 years later. It was lovely, though, and I am so thankful my parents were alive and well then, they both died not long afterwards. I'm glad they realized their dream in seeing me (and several of their 9 children) married.

DW (DD2Disney) and I had a small church wedding with just family and friends (about 75 total), just a Matron of Honor (or as she herself put it, Matron of Dishonor) and a Best Pilgrim (he's a huge John Wayne fan, so we made a slight concession).

We did not do anything fancy. I wore a suit, and DW wore a regular dress. Neither of us wanted too much pageantry, we just wanted to be married. The ceremony took exactly 18 minutes.

After the reception, we flew to CA for a second reception for my family and friends who live there.

The only thing that almost went wrong was the flowers... a friend of ours was making silk flowers and come the day of the wedding they had not arrived, so I had to scramble in a hurry. Fortunately, there was a florist right around the corner from our apt. and fortunately he was stocked up because it was also Prom Day in our town. When I got home from the florist, UPS was there with the flowers that were being made. We had LOTS of flowers.

BTW, when is Del'sWife going to post on this thread? Tha's a story I have got to hear
