What type of tickets?

I hope I'm posting this to the right board.

I need some advice. What type of ticket do you suggest we get? There will be four of us (DH, DS will be 11, DS's friend will be 11, and myself). Going from 9/9 - 9/23. We'll definitely be park hopping. Since it's DS's first time, we'll probably be going to the parks at least 10 days. And going to the water parks a couple of times. Not to mention letting the boys play at Disney Quest a couple of times.

Should I just get Magic Your Way with Park Hopper & Water Fun and More Option? Annual passes (we'll probably won't go back during the year since we live in CA)? If annual passes, regular ones or premium?

Thank you in advance for your assistance. I thought I'd ask fellow DISers before calling DVC Member Services.

What about the 10 day premium. The annual passes dont include water parks unless you get the premiums that are way more. The 10 day MYW PHP cost about the same as an annual pass but include 5 (I think) days of water parks/disneyquest. Have a blast on your trip!

10 day expiring premium. (hopping and water park fun). You said theme parks at least 10 days although this pass means theme parks at most 10 days. You can do the water parks on additional days if you wish, within the 14 day lifespan starting with first usage. The latter will cause you to have to do nothing on either the day of arrival or the day of departure.

If you absolutely positively need to go into the parks more than 10 days you might consider a second 10 day pass, this one with non-expiration, and save the leftovers for any future trip. Incidentally with 13 theme park days the annual pass breaks even; with 4 water park / Disney Quest visits added in the premium annual pass breaks even, even if you don't come back.

You may want to do the math with purchasing one annual pass just to get the hotel savings (if offered) if you are going to stay on Disney property. It could be significant for a stay that long. You only need one annual pass to reap any hotel savings offered. Plus there are other discounts on dining and merchandise that may be beneficial to you and your group.

The OP is a DVC member staying at BWV (presumably on points) during their vacation. The AP discount on rooms isn't an issue at all -- the DVC "discount" on rooms trumps all other discounts. Gotta love using the points.

There is a significant DVC discount available for APs and PAPs, but I'm thinking that it might not necessarily be the most cost effective purchase in anticipation of this trip.

I would have to agree that the 10 day MYW with all the bells and whistles is the way to go. If there are a significant number of park admission days and plus options remaining on the pass at the end of the trip, just add the non-expiring option before departure and keep the remaining days and plus options safe for the next vacation.

However, it sounds like all the park admissions and plus options will be well enjoyed -- so no need to worry about adding the no expiry.

Thank you very much for all of your advice and suggestions. I'm heavily leaning towards getting the MYW tickets. My DH wants premium annual passes. I guess that wouldn't be too bad if he plans to go another time before the passes expire. I could do WDW more than once in one year. :)
