What type of shoes for the beach?

I agree! Nothing like the jellies!!!!

I have "problem feet" - they are very flat and shoes are often uncomfortable. I have been wearing orthotics in athletic shoes for years as the only comfortable shoes and occasionally wearing something different for only a few hours at a time. But I can wear Crocs now! I can wear them all day without blisters or sore feet! However, I have found that for tons of walking (like WDW) that I am still better off with my orthotics. But it is so nice to have something else I can wear for work, home, shopping, gardening, etc. Oh yeah - I haven't had a single blister either!

Hi everybody - Can someone please describe for me what crocs look like?? I just can't picture them at all. Maybe I know them by a different name. They're not something we ever had back home in Ireland. Thanks,

Briege

Probably dating myself, but the Croc Beach model reminds me of the old earth shoe in stying. The rubber look takes some getting used to  Probably the ugliest shoes I've ever worn.

Despite their look, they're more comfortable than my orthotic inserts. This is the first year in a long time I didn't need a steriod shot in my feet, I attribute this to the Crocs.

I have the Nile (sandal) & the Beach models in basic black. The Nile is cooler for summer, but not as comfortable & I keep tripping in them. I've got a pair of the Payless knockoffs, and my feet start to ache after wearing them. Good Luck.

Thanks everyone, now I have an idea what they look like. Quite different than what I thought but it seems as though everybody is recommending them. Are there stores you can buy them in or is it just online? I like to try on my shoes before buying them. Thanks.

If you have a Dillards near you you can get the beach model there.

Saw the Beach model, lots of different sizes & colors, yesterday in my local Dicks store (sporting goods) for $29.99.

Nordstroms also carries them....

I am still undecided what to do about water shoes....

I am so thankful for all the information. I will be checking out Lands End, Teva and Crocs at Dillards (thanks DVC Jen). I have read so many good reports here on the Crocs, that I guess the only problem will be which color to start with !! I am always so practical....you know, white or black because they go with everything. I just would like to go a little wild, and the crocs certainly give a lot of options for that ! Thank you everyone... :wave2: Corie
