What type of purse for DL?????

I typically take 2 bags to the park (I am normally carrying stuff for 5 people). One I have on BF - which is a nice solid backpack. We keep snacks, water bottles, first aid kit, ponchos (ok, that's a WDW thing I'd guess) and non essentials in there. I am not sure of the brand name, the one I use was an award from my company! Then for all of our keys, passes, etc I use a Vera Bradley All in One Wristlet My camera stays around my neck at all times. If I am doing a water ride, it can pop into the backpack, where I keep an extra case.

For shorter days, I use my Vera Bradley Mini-Hipster which holds all of our cash, cards, keys, etc. It's small enough I can leave it on at all times and never even notice I'm wearing it. Love that bag. I use it all the time at home too. I like the fact I can organize things in it, and all the zippers. I love zippers. It's big enough I can stick and Point and Shoot camera in there, though not my big Nikon.

I use a smaller type backpack that someone gave me from Mountain Equipment Co-op. That is big enough for my first aid kit, pennies (for pressing), water bottles, autograph book and anything else my daughter insists on packing around (usually her stuffed animal de jour) but small enough that it isn't awkward to take on a ride - it fits into the mesh pouches on the fast rides.

Then I use a fanny pack that is designed as a camera bag (so it's padded) to carry my camera and park tickets. I have a waterproof case for the tickets that is physically attached to fanny pack so I can't lose it.

On our last trip, when we came back to the parks after our afternoon break, I ditched the backpack and just carried my wallet in the fanny pack. No camera because I am terrible at taking nighttime pictures. It was very freeing, not having the backpack to lug around.

I have this spiffy little credit card case that contains my ID, room key, park hopper, 20 dollar bill, and credit card. It has a hook that attaches to my belt loop, and it fits into my front pocket. I always wear cargo shorts and keep my point and shoot camera in there. That way I don't have to worry about leaving stuff on rides or whatever. If I want water I go to a counter services and ask for a free cup, and I make sure I get a cup of free water every time I get a snack, so i don't worry so much about dehydration. I put on plenty of water proof sunscreen before I leave the room in the morning.

Lisa...I just have to ask...what type of Baggallini did you have?? I have the messenger one, exactly like the photo previously in this thread and I just LOVE mine! I've never had any of the issues you describe and I can't help but think if you tried the messenger style you might like it a bit more??:confused3

I will say that I never put my wallet items ie. cash, credit cards, id in the front pockets. While that big front pocket is just amazing with all it's nifty little holders for cards, cash even park tickets, I am super afraid that all that important stuff will just fall out. However, I'm not really sure HOW that would happen since that pocket has a zipper too... So instead I just take a smaller wallet then my "everyday" one at home and keep this in the large zippered part of the bag.;)

I 100% recommend the Baggallini messenger style bag. It's light, swings to my front for easy access, holds a ton of stuff and comes in lots of cute colors! I got mine off ebay for half what they sell for!:thumbsup2

I totally agree. I have that same one, even that same color! I picked a bright color because I figured if I took it off it was less likely to get stolen if it stood out.

Ah, why did you have to link those! Now I have bag envy. I've never seen the vera bags before (or known what they are) but they are super cute... Now I know what to ask for for Valentines Day or Easter, LOL!

I love my Baggalinni, and use it all the time. I can load it down with water bottles, etc and it doesn't bother my back, even after a long day at the parks.

The All in one Wristlet is super cute! But I'm curious...do you "hold" onto this on your wrist the ENTIRE day?? It's adorable, but I'm just not sure if I could handle this hanging from my wrist all day long.;)

And I like the Mini Hipster too, not my style but it sure is cute!:thumbsup2 Thanks for the links, I've heard about these Vera Bradley bags on this board but have never actually seen them.

Gotta admit though, I'm a die hard Baggallini girl! Mine is light pink- love it!

And take a look at the bag I just scored as my "carry-on" and purse for those non-Disney days. http://www.shoebuy.com/b-collective-weekender-bon-voyage-tote/399340/852860 Looking forward to trying it out!:thumbsup2

I use my Coach Swingback but am going to check out the Baggalinni! Looks really cool.

You'll love it! Make sure you check out the messenger style, exactly like the one pictured earlier in this thread. They have a newer style out now that's a little different, although they still call it messenger as well. I don't really like the looks of the newer style plus it appears to have less compartments/zippers, etc.

Mine is the nylon type fabric but they also come in leather (harder to find) and a "crinkle" fabric, not sure on what these are. I love mine because I don't worry about it! And I can literally just throw it in the washing machine and it's ready for our next trip!

I have a Mickey bag I got from Avon, I wear it cross body and it holds pins, water bottle, my camera, cell phone and my wallet. :) I love it.

NONE....I put my phone in my back pocket and in the other pocket I put, room key, CC and DL, oh and AP!!! Easy peasy! Oh dear this time, I will have a baby and stroller!

I take a drawstring backpack too. Mine is also by Nike. It has pockets for two drinks, a separate pocket for the important stuff and then the main part will hold snacks, my jacket, whatever. I love it.

Most women carry purses, but a lot of people bring along backpacks. I have always brought a large purse with me to the park (to hold sunglasses, water, ear hats when it gets too hot or a sweater when it gets to cold) and have never found it annoying or a pain to deal with it on any of the rides (obviously rides like Indiana Jones won't allow large bags - but those are few). Consider what you will have with you in the park and if you plan on staying there all day. Be realistic because more than likely you or your daughter will have sunglasses a water bottle or a spare sweater. When my sister and I go, usually one of us will bring a large bag for these things, because I find that if things don't have a bag to go in they will get lost!

I am a bag-o-holic, as my husband would say! I have lots of different purses and bags and I am always trying a different one out at Disneyland to see what I like best. I am also a huge fan of Baggallini, but I did not like the messanger bag at all! It is just too big, it didn't sit right on me and the strap was uncomfortable. On my last trip I used this:

It's the Baggallini Sydney Bagg! I really liked it, except it was too big and when I walked it would bang against me and just moved too much. I use it now as a purse.

I just bought this for my next trip:

It's by ebags, but I got a great deal on it through ebay. It is smaller, but very similar to the Sydney Bagg. I think this might be the one! LOL

The one I used looked more like this:

http://www.norbysonline.com/babaupbauinc.html

The front flap had the magnet closure, and it had two zippers that opened the main compartment. I would go to unzip it, and it would often sort of flop open, and that is when my cards and some money would fall out. It reminded me of how a suitcase will fly open if you stand it upright and unzip it--sort of like a drawbridge coming down. Maybe I am just really uncoordinated! When I realized that my hotel keys were getting demagnetized from the front magnet, I stopped putting them there, and then it didn't happen after that.

I had read that other people liked baggallini bags for traveling, so I am sure it was just the particular bag I got. I did buy a new swing pack for our trip last summer, but I am not sure what brand it was. I got it at TJMaxx, and I made sure it had no magnets and it didn't fall open when I unzipped it! It worked really well. I alternated that and a waist pack.

Here is a picture from that trip with my girls:

You can see my youngest had her own messenger style bag. She bought hers at TJMaxx as well and loved it. She would stuff her jacket and maps in there.

I LOVE Vera bradley. They have a mini hipster bag that is awesome. Lies flat against your body and can hang across your chest so you don't have to think about it. www.verabradley.com

My honest to nerdness answer is a fanny pack

I travel light, just some gift cards, money, phone, camera. The snacks and water stay in the stroller. I like to run around and have my hands free so it works. Sure its kind of nerdy but it works. When you stop for pictures just turn it around and poof no fanny pack in the pictures.

I take my medium sized purse, it's tan and has 3 pockets in the inside, but i bought it cause it's functional, and it fits on all the rides at disneyland!

The Wristlet is super because it'll fit in a pocket but it also clips onto things. So if I want, I can clip it through my belt, or onto the backpack. However, it's really light and well balanced so it doesn't bother me on my wrist, and I hate things on my wrist. That's what drew me to Vera Bradley, I always disliked carrying a purse, but they're lightweight enough that they don't annoy me ;). And with the bright colors, I can't lose them as easily!

My mom also has a wristlet and she has Rheumatoid Arthritis. She keeps it hooked to her purse strap and can easily access her cards. At Disney she kept it around her wrist and just carried that to save on her shoulder.

Love the new bag! I am totally addicted to bags too
