What type of living quarters do you live in?

We live in a colonial with a basement we would like to do over within the next year or so.

We're in a 2 story townhouse (3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, 1 car garage - washer and dryer on 2nd floor :D )

We'd love to move to a bigger house in a better school district but this one will be paid off in under 4 years and although we could easily get $275,000 for it we'd need at least another $150,000 to make the move really worthwhile. We're beyond the point of wanting to be house poor so we'll just make the most of what we have and enjoy more disposable income. Of course if DD goes to private school there goes our disposable income  .

Wow, it's amazing the difference in the housing market in different places. A $275,000 house in CNY could buy you a BRAND NEW 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath colonial, 2 car garage, in a REALLY NICE neighborhood with a house with all the "bells and whistles" if you know what I mean.

(kinda OT but I was just amazed at the difference, that's all....sorry, please continue with the original topic ;) )

We live in a ranch house with a partial basement. It's pretty old... was started in the late '30s. :) Dh and I bought it almost 2 years ago to be close to my parents (who live around the corner). It needed a lot of work, which we're having done bit by bit. Dh calls it the money pit. :teeth:

But I love this old house! :) It sits on 3 1/2 acres; there are lots of birds, squirrels, and a few rabbits around; and lots of old trees. Unfortunately the trees can be a problem, too, as we found out when a big storm came through here on Memorial Day.

We live in a cozy 3 bedroom old florida style house. Its brick, and old, but completely re-done inside. It reminds you of a really nice Condo. We even got the florida style furniture to match!::yes::

2 story Tudor on a 2 acre lot with an inground swimming pool. We are right next to a Forest Preserve which the kids consider and extension of their backyard. 3 bedrooms/3 bath. In 2002 we finished the basement and added a rec room and a 4th bedroom. Our Master Bedroom used to be 2 seperate bedrooms but the previous owner knocked out a wall and added a jacuzzi bathtub and remodeled bathroom. Market Value is probably around $225k

Our house is getting older and still needs some work. We try to do at least one major project a year.

live in a pair of 100 yr old shotguns that were joined together 50 yrs ago,, one was an old boxcar house bback when this area was still mobile lumber camps and sawmills, when they moved here the guy who owned this section of land bought a cpl of the company houses and made them into one.

We live in a 2 story colonial that we had built for us in 1994. Can't believe we've been here for 10 years now!

I think Bob lives on his commode! Does that count?

We live in a 2 story, 5 bedroom, 5 bath, 3 car garage mediterrean (?) style house.

LOL! I have been known to "hide" from little people too!

A 2-story farm house built in the early 1900's, was completely remodeled in 1974 then in 1987 we added on a 24'x24' family room, 3-level deck and had vinyl siding put on (it was ugly yellow brick!) plus replaced the flooring in a few of the rooms. Most of the time I love it, but sometimes I wish it were smaller.

I see you waving from the window

Where was that safe located again?

An adorable little lake front cottage. We have been remodeling it for the last couple of years-- though it is small (just 1200 sq ft) we love being right on the lake!
