With all the skills, knowledge, hobbies... that you have, what type of business, would you most likely start?

Watergardening business.
Plants, supplies, maybe designing watergardens (but NOT digging them :D ).

I would love to be a "Disney Only" travel agent ;) so I can plan vacations for others, make PS, itinerary's for other people, etc:D

I'd like to do something like that too.

Otherwise it would have to be something where I get to mess with a computer.

A friend and I want to start a wedding planning business after we graduate college...we want to be able to do everything from start to finish, invitations, favors, flowers, centerpieces, etc. Plus, we want to be able to book honeymoons so maybe a travel agency on the side!

I also thought about a gift basket business...I used to make them at my old job and loved it!!

I would love to own some kind of 2nd hand store. Not junk but quality 'used' things. I love bargains...I love to let someone who has the money buy it....decide its not for them then sell it to me for half price or less :teeth:

Everyone loves shopping with me (or so they say...lol) cause I know how to find the deals.

I have strongly thought about a small dessert shop. Some place folks could go after church,a movie,a community event. I would offer cakes, cookies, cheesecake and also have low fat and sugar free(lo carb) offerings as well as have the carb count or WW point value listed.I would also offer flavored coffee and tea.

I would also later expand into making desserts for people to order for holidays or offer home baked goodies for kids to take to school when their moms do not have the time to bake.

I would want to do a gift basket business. I have done it before and if I am able to get clients from the internet, that would be great.

Oh, I'd love to buy a grand old southern mansion, renovate it and have lovely gardens surrounding it. Then I'd rent it for weddings, reunions, birthdays, corporate events and such. I'd have lists of caterers, florists, and entertainment that would suit any event on hand.

Then in our golden years, DH & I would retire to the grand house and sip mint juleps on the verandah swing. Ha ha.

It's a nice daydream.

DH would like me to start a used book store. He wants to get rid of all of mine. :teeth:

I have a few ideas:

Rent digital cameras at the maternity wards of hospitals and set up web pages for pictures of the newborns (inspired by waiting days to see photos of my newborn niece who's now 11 days old).

Run a kid friendly bed & breakfast in an area that attracts a lot of retirees so families have a home away from home when they come to visit grandma and grandpa in their not so kid frienly retirement community.

(Need big money for this so it won't happen.) Develop condos in college towns and market them to parents of students. If there was something low maintenance to buy where DD is in school, I'd do it in a minute.

Already have, though I'm not very far off the ground.

Cross stitch design. :)

veterinary clinic, can I say "duh"?

I'd rather have a luxury boarding facility & daycare. Much less stress, and sadly, more money.

DH and I wanted to open 2 businesses and we did!!!
We had a childrens' birthday party facility. We supplied all the paper goods, entertainment, ice cream sundaes, music, goody bags at our facility. We also owned a craft and gift shop where we also sold DH painted childrens' furniture(he is an artist). All this while DH has a full time job at Verizon! We were busy. We closed down because I got very ill during my pregnancy and couldn't do the businesses anymore. DH couldn't do all of it on his own and it would've cost too much to have other people do it for us. We were only open a year. We did really well but, it was alot of work. We still have all our supplies stored in the hopes of one day maybe opening 1 or both again!

DH and I are the type of people who dream it and take a chance and go for it!!

Right now DH has started a home improvement business with a friend of his. In the past he has completely renovated a house from top to bottom! He has alot of experience in things like this and has always wanted to do this, so he just did it! He has done really well and is booked up with work.

We both hope to own a Bed and Breakfast one day. It is a dream of ours to own a large victorian house and use it as a B&B. That is something I can see us do later on in life.

Right now I am just itchin to start my own business from home but, I don't know what it will be yet!!

I want to start a soup restaurant (like the soup nazi from sienfeld.) I love love love cooking, and my FAVORITE thing to cook and eat is soup. I would also probably serve fresh bread. I would open it in the 'business' section of town, and people could come for lunch and have the best soup ever! :)

tricia.

I'd sell sandwiches on the beach on an island somewhere. I'd like to be open only during lunch hours--don't want to interfere with my evening escape to Margaritaville ;) .

I have always wanted to start a candy business, I'd call it Gails Goodies but I didn't, to costly and I dont have the funs to back me up :D

Being a Disney vacation planner would be my first choice, by far. Some people would say I was nuts, but I wouldn't even care if it didn't pay much. I think it's super important to have a passion for what you do, and I'd have a passion for that, without a doubt!

I used to think I would like to have a very seasonal business where I could just go around and put in bedding plants in peoples flowerbeds in the spring. I love digging in the dirt! It's too tough on the old back to pursue beyond my own yard now.

Something to do with art. Making ceramic reproductions from colonial times.

Selling beach scape water colors or....

An origami shop!:D

This is one that everyone keeps telling me I should do:

Home Theater design and installation, but I think I would have as much fun doing car stereo and detailing work - I get REALLY, REALLY nuts about that kind of stuff. :hyper:

I actually re-wired the alarm and cell phone kit after it was installed in my last car, they had done a sloppy wiring job...it's supposed to NOT look like there is anything out of the ordinairy there when you are done. :smooth:
