Hi. Newbie here.

Can anyone give me some good pointers on what type of bag to buy to bring to the park? Backpack, fanny, shoulder?? What's the best.

I'll be bringing my DS 11, DS 9 and DD 4.

Thanks for the help!!

Hi and welcome! :grouphug:

When I travel to WDW I wear a fanny pack. I know I would never survive carrying around a back pack all day. It would hurt my shoulders too much. I hardly even notice the fanny pack.

I know some people think they HAVE to bring a back pack because they have a lot of stuff that their kids need. I don't have kids, but I think at least your 11 and 9 year olds should be able to wear their own fanny packs if they have their own stuff (sunglasses, autograph books, etc.).

Have a great time on your trip! :yay:

A lot of people here on the DIS boards recommend the Baggallini Messenger Bag. Baggallini has a website of its own or go to www.amazon.com

It costs about $35.00 and there are other styles to choose from as well. Check it out and see if it suits your needs. :sunny: I'm considering buying one for myself.

We've always had the family backpack that we take turns with and I have either my fanny pack or a tiny purse I strap crossways for tickets, keys and money. Well I am attempting a trip with just one who won't be able to help me......so I bought a Baggalini based on reports on Dis. I ordered through shoebuy.com with a discount code found on the Budget Board. Total cost with shipping was about $25. I love it and will be perfect for my stuff....cameras, wipes, mints, glasses...... :3dglasses

My friend took that bag that Goofy4 suggests to Six Flags with us and I thought it was an awesome bag ! I don't know if I'd want it around my waist, wonder if it comes with a strap.

My DD, then 9 years old, wore a small clear backpack. It was big enough to carry film, camera, cell phone, some bandaids, tickets, and money. It was just big enough to carry all of that, yet small enough that it didn't bother her. I did wear it sometimes.

I also got a baggallini messenger bag for my upcoming trip..and I have been using it alot for other things too! I love it! it is just big enough for essentials:camera, autograph book, sunscreen, hat, etc. (I have a 4yr old) but not so large as to be a nuisance. It is also comfortable to wear, and I have back issues. I am actually going to get another one for my DH to wear (he refuses to wear mine which is periwinkle in color..he needs 'manly' black or brown i guess :confused3 ) I am not a huge fan of the fanny pack...who needs to add extra bulk to that area :rotfl:
hope that helps some!

I have been looking at the Overland Equipement bags, recommended on another board. I just bought the Placer from ebags, which sounds just large enough for money, cell phone, and camera. They also have larger bags. I prefer messenger style, across the body. I just don't like the fanny packs. I agree that backpacks are a pain, but if you have a lot of stuff (e.g., baby stuff), they work well.

The Donner might be another option - it receives a lot of recs.

BTW, ebags has a special of 10 percent off plus free shipping over $35.

Enjoy!
