Can anyone suggest a good backpack, not too big and not too expensive... that I can bring to WDW?

I have two young kids (ages 3 and 6) and want to pack an outfit for each, and maybe a couple of little snacks.

Thanks!

When I have gone to WDW and packed snacks, water, etc...I have always used my Jansport backpack, which works great. That is what I would recommend.

You could probably buy one for like $30 or something like that and could find anywhere...if have an outlet mall nearby, then I would try that.

Good luck!

Last winter I used my son's L.L. Bean school bag. It was comfy, big enough for me to wear and large enough to carry 4 sweatshirts and 4 rain ponchos (ok they weren't opened yet, and once they were we had to wear them) and carry some treats around in them. I am looking forward to spring, when we won't need the sweatshirts in the morning!

In general, any good book bag or day pack that you would use would work great. I would avoid the plastic ones, they just aren't very comfortable.

Wal-Mart sells a brand call Eastport backpack for 10.00 dollars which is excellent to carry stuff in. That's where I got my back at. It has held up really good to.

oops... "premature post" problem! :p

anyway, I do only have 2 WEEKS LEFT!!! so, I guess I should start getting my act together!

I bought a Tommy Hilfiger backpack at TJMaxx for about $20. I think the key is lots of pockets...it helps to find things quickly when they're separated. Also has two mesh pockets on the sides big enough to hold a water bottle.

Just remember that what ever kind of backpack you choose, they are still doing bag search- so have it already open when you get in line. :D

I waited until I got to WDW and bought one at that Poly. It is a nice canvas one with a lot of pockets and it has Mickey on it!

I just bought a bag at Kohl's that is perfect. Made by Jansport, very lightweight. It has an adjustable strap so I can carry it on my shoulder or over my head to cross my front. Good size too. Also the price was right 50% off only $10

if it's not too late, or for future backpack purchases, overstock.com usually has good ones with steep discounts.

Target had the clear ones on clearence for $2.97. ...near the purses in a clearence area (this was this Tuesday). It appears pretty roomy, definately big enough for outsfits and camera etc...I thought it maybe too big for us DD7 and we no longer need all that stuff...I know people suggested the clear ones made the security lines at WDW easier. I'm not sure if I'll use it or not but for $3.00 my DD can play with it!

I bought an ergonomic backpack recently for a lil more - what a difference those angled, padded straps make! Also, we have a really nice leather backpack we tried once. Hard to stuff anything with "shape" into even the bigger lockers when you get tired of carrying it around. You can get a regular sized - just be sure it is soft and not so full of anything hard like sneakers and camera equipment that you can't squash it down to put in a locker. Otherwise, you get stuck toting or paying for 2 lockers.

When I was looking last week, I found that most of them are on sale b/c school has started and there isn't a big demand for them right now. I got mine for $10 when it was originally $25. I thought it was a bargin. Saved me some money. :)

We were online at MGM for a bag check, and the woman in front of us had a clear, blue tinted backpack. The security CM made quite a fuss over it, and her, shouting to everyone that this was 'almost' the perfect bag, and that to make it perfect, it should have been clear! So...the security CMs seem to like the clear backpacks/bags. I'm just such an overpacker, I would be too embarressed to have everyone see how much stuff I lug around with me all day.

If you're interested in keeping with the Disney theme, our Super Walmart has Kim Possible backpacks for $5.00...and they're not pink & purple!princess:

We always take a rolling backpack because my 6yo DD is too big for a stroller but will walk miles and miles if she can pull the backpack!!

I have a Lands End diaperbag/backpack. I LOVE IT. it is wonderful and it was not that much. The $$ was worth it. It has a cup for sippy's of juice cups. It has very good shoulder padding.. and 2 pockets. I love mine! It also doesn't LOOK like a diaper bag. It looks like a backpack.

Hope that helped!
