What Traveller's Checks to Take

I'm seriously considering getting travellers cheques for this trip .vs. cash like we usually do.
Since American Express is a sponsor, is that the route to go or are there other ones out there ?
I need advice on cheques that are accepted everywhere in the World. (haven't used TC since a trip to Europe in the 80's, so pardon the dumb questions.....)

I've used AE and never had a problem. I've used them when I checked into the resort, the foodcourts, in the gift shops, fand to pay for a character breakfast.

I used traveler's check for everything when I travel for food court,gas, gift shops and other things around Florida.

Check with your bank. If you are a big customer (ie, you have lots of money in the bank, LOL) you could get travelers checks with no fees. I'd go with that "brand" then. If you have to pay fees, go with a brand you know.

I haven't used traveler's checks in a long time, but I know that American Express used to have a policy regarding replacing lost or stolen checks. I would definitely check into that!

I used American Express and had no problems at all. Even the street vendors accepted them.

FYI- Disney is no longer affiliated w/American Express- everything is Visa. AAA also sells Visa traveler's cheques now and doesn't deal w/Amex. But, WDW will accept any types of traveler's cheques. I like to use traveler's cheques instead of credit cards b/c they help me control my spending, and instead of cash b/c they will be replaced if lost or stolen. -Stephanie

How about The TravelFunds Card prepaid by American Express

Is a prepaid card, reloadable, if stolen will be replaced in 24 hours
is accepted everywhere like cash and ATM's. It has a minimun of 300 dollars to a max. of 2750 and you can order up to 4 cards at a time. The fee is 14.95 per card. I decided to order them because it is convenient and easy for me and it gives me peace of mind to know if my money is lost or stolen it will be replace in 24 hrs.
