ok - one week left before takeoff!!!
Those of you with younger ones - I have an 11 month old boy, what the heck do I bring for his toys to play with on plane and etc??? Obviously dont want to bring anything big and bulky!!!
Any thoughts on good travel friendly toys for his age?

TIA
Laurie

I have asked myself the same question as we will be traveling with a 14 month old in June. Consider his favorite toys that he plays with everyday and take the ones you wouldn't mind carrying or hearing if they are noise makers and that others on the plane wouldn't mind hearing. LOL I'm bringing a duffel bag of chew toys (he is teething bad) and all the small toys he loves playing with on a daily basis which consist of small blocks, his hammer, and his hard back baby books he loves looking at. Good luck and have fun.

Lots of chew toys, and any of his other favorites that you can fit in a carry-on bag. We pulled the bedspread off one of our beds at the hotel, spread it out on the floor and placed his bag of toys on it and let him go to town while we got our showers and other ds (5yo) ready. Also, extra pacifiers if he uses one. Our 8mo likes to put everything in his mouth. We've found that if we keep his passy attached to him, we pull fewer foreign objects out of his mouth. Don't forget to pack extra blankets (receiving type) and take one or two to the parks and restaurants with you.
Remember to use the Baby Care Centers in the Parks. They are so wonderful. Much better than trying to change diapers in the restrooms and they have nice highchairs for feeding time and quiet rooms for breast feeding and napping. I was impressed, especially with the one at MK.
And have a great time!

I think the website is www.abbf.com or .org, I dont remember - but, my DS loved the bag of toys so much that I had to go on a hunt for the lobster toy when we got home. LOL - For on the plane we brought mostly books and DH and I took turns sitting next to him an reading, we also brought a walkman and tape of toddlers songs that he loved, and we got the Fisher price powertouch thing since he could push on it and it had a volume control, it really kept him occupied.

This year we are flying on Jet Blue and he will be 3 1/2 for this one - his third trip so I figure a little TV that he can watch is worth the extra 10-15 minutes to the airport that Jet Blue flies out of.

We will be off to WDW end of this month with a 6 month old. I'm planning to bring a couple of her teething toys and praying she sleeps most of the time. ;)

I'm thinking of going to Walmart and picking up some new things while we are there and making sure I save the boxes for the plane trip back home.

This actually will work out great for us because we live on Oahu and shipping costs really adds to retail prices here.

There have been lots of good suggestions so far.

When we took our son (he turned a year on the trip) we took waaaay too many toys. He was just so interested in people watching, the different experiences, etc that he was amused just by his surroundings. We took him again at 15 months and took just a few toys.

One trick we used was to take his favorite toy and pack it away a few days before the trip. When we gave it to him in the car, he was delighted to see it again and he played with it more than ever.

Also, he may pick up some things there so save space for those items. A cast member at AKL gave my son a different plastic animal sippy cup each morning. He loved to drink out of it then play with it when it was empty. On the trip home my son spent hours mastering the fine art of removing and replacing the screw-on lid and straw. We found that taking along "toys" that do double duty is a bonus.

Have a fantastic trip!
